Inhalation with bronchitis is useful to do when the first signs of the disease occur. There are many variations to this procedure. Let's try to figure out which of the inhalations will be most effective for bronchitis.
The most commonly used forms of inhalation:
- Inhalation of particles of various medicinal substances in the form of an aerosol or in suspension in pairs of decoctions of medicinal herbs.
- Inhalation of positively or negatively charged aerosols.
- Inhalation of sea or mineral water vapor.
Depending on the temperature, inhalations are wet (water temperature 30-35 ยฐ ), heat-moist (35-42 ยฐ ) and steam.
For inhalation with bronchitis, a method such as insufflation is often used. Its essence lies in the inhalation of powdered drugs (sulfonamides, antibiotics). For spraying drugs, special powder blowers are used - insufflators. In acute and chronic bronchitis, special insufflators are used - chalers.
The most affordable are steam inhalations. Inhalations with bronchitis can be carried out both with the help of special inhalers (type IP), and with the help of heating water or a decoction of medicinal herbs. When using an inhaler, inhalation of ascending vapors from a facial mask into which a volatile drug is added is added. Along with the medicine, the active factor in this type of inhalation is hot water vapor. It helps increase blood flow, stimulates the cellular metabolism of the mucous membrane, perfectly dilutes sputum. The most suitable steam temperature is 40-45 ยฐ C. Very often, alkali, thymol, menthol, eucalyptus, decoctions of chamomile or sage leaves are used for steam inhalation. The course of treatment is 10 procedures, and in chronic forms of bronchitis - 15-20. The duration of inhalation with bronchitis should be 10 minutes.
Despite its usefulness, steam inhalation is contraindicated in diseases such as severe tuberculosis, acute pneumonia, hemoptysis, pleurisy, polyposis and hypertrophy of the mucous membrane, ischemia.
During wet inhalations with bronchitis, the drug is administered via the portable inhaler into the respiratory tract by spraying without heating. For this type of procedure, antibiotics, bronchodilators, volatile drugs, saline solutions are used.
Warm inhalations with bronchitis dilute sputum, stimulate the process of mucociliary clearance, accelerate the excretion of mucus, eliminate stubborn cough, and improve the drainage function of the bronchi. For this procedure, medicinal substances with a mucolytic and bronchodilator effect (sodium bicarbonate, antiseptics, mineral water, bronchodilators) are used. One inhalation usually requires 25 ml of solution. The whole procedure lasts 10 minutes. The most effective are such inhalations in acute and chronic bronchitis.
Air inhalations for bronchitis are carried out by spraying from special spray cans of drugs that are easily vaporized using compressed air or gas (propellants). They need to be carried out for 10 minutes every day. For such inhalations, drugs with bronchial and mucolytic action are used.
Recently, inhalations with bronchitis with a nebulizer have been very popular. This procedure is very simple. Pour the medicinal fluid into the container and turn on the inhaler. It should be located above the patientโs head, so that therapeutic pairs descend from above. Only nebulizers release microparticles of a drug smaller than a micron. This size of the drug allows it to easily penetrate the respiratory tract. Inhalations with bronchitis in children with a nebulizer greatly facilitate the procedure with the use of drugs. To make such an inhalation, a small child just needs to place the device above his crib and turn it on. Even during sleep, the child will inhale the healing products. Getting directly into the respiratory system, drugs begin to act instantly, almost without affecting other organs.
