What is a coffer? Meaning, synonyms and interpretation

Probably almost every nation has a lot of expressive expressions. But the Russians believe that their curses are the best and most colorful. It's hard to judge this, but one thing is clear: we love to swear, but someone even knows how. Let's talk today about the relatively decent word "dunduk" - this is our topic.

Value

Charming donkey

If you think about people's love for the word, then, probably, the degree of their affection can be measured in the number of synonyms for it. The "dunduk" has a lot of them. But more on that later. Another thing is more interesting: the explanatory dictionary should teach us the good, the bright, the eternal, but it contains the object of today's research. So, the meaning of the word "crap": "Stupid, stupid man." The noun is colloquial and declined. In other words, in a decent society it is better not to use it. But while we are in our own circle, it is possible.

Probably, the reader immediately raises the question: is it possible to call the heroes of the nonsense of American films the dunduk? For example, do you remember the movie "Lord of Fate" (1990)? There the protagonist had such a friend. And here, of course, there may be different interpretations and discrepancies, but it seems that such a character cannot be defined as a coffer, it will be slightly unfair to him. Dunduks are those who cause severe irritation, whose dullness rolls over and causes a flurry of anger. Although a lot in this sense depends on the speaker.

Synonyms

Oak - tree

There are words with a large number of substitutions; there are words with a small one. In this case, we were lucky, and we can count on a rich catch, because, as we said earlier, the Russian people know a lot about curses, although it doesn’t color them. If we talk about all the synonyms, then it will be too much. Choose the brightest substitutions for the value of "dunduk":

  • fool;
  • moron;
  • a donkey;
  • oak;
  • doodle
  • burdock;
  • booby.

Enough, I guess. Naturally, not everything was included in the final list. But the general meaning is clear. Now, if the reader thinks of calling someone, then he will have a choice.

Suffixes “k” and “ok”

Reflecting on whether we can somehow “decriminalize” the “dunduk” (this is a non-trivial task), we remembered that children perceive the suffix “k” as adding rudeness to the word. You can read about it with K. I. Chukovsky in the wonderful book "From Two to Five." Therefore, in fact, young children, intuitively feeling the language, avoid this "harmful" suffix. Compare on an example of names:

  • Valentine - Valka;
  • Dina - Dinka;
  • Sasha - Sasha.
Beautiful chipmunk

Immediately felt rudeness and familiarity. The reader can argue with us, but for now let us set this aside. More important is another: there is a suffix that, on the contrary, softens the meaning of words. This is the suffix "ok." For instance:

  • hamster
  • spider
  • beacon;
  • chipmunk.

Yes, there is some shade of frivolity, but the words still "get". Therefore, we decided to crank the same operation with the object of study. A coffer is rude, and a “cappuccino” sounds even a little kindly, that is, one who criticizes is not yet furious, and this is important. Russian, like any language, is plastic. Therefore, do not be afraid to experiment. To study and comprehend the norms and rules of the native language is always exciting and useful. And we take our leave and take away the dunduk (this is our subject of conversation) with ourselves, leaving the reader alone.
