It is hard to imagine a real man without such an accessory as a knife. This item has long been accompanied by the stronger sex on hunting, fishing, and in any household chores. An accessory can become a real weapon.
Over time, the shapes and sizes of the knives changed, but the Bumblebee knife, which is part of the military equipment, did not lose its relevance. It is an integral part of an army costume and is also called a bayonet-knife.
What is a bayonet knife?
A bayonet-knife is a weapon that can be used in two ways: as a conventional cutting tool or attached to the barrel of a rifle, guns and used in battle.
The bayonet-knife inflicts deep piercing blows, it can get stuck in the tendons. This impact force is explained by the fact that the blade mounted on the weapon has a more powerful impact force, because they strike with two hands. If the blade has a good sharpening, it will easily enter the target. Therefore, it is not made too sharp. However, the blunt edge for the knife is a drawback. Therefore, the excellent characteristics of the bayonet as a tool reduce its combat qualities, and vice versa. When developing tools, designers take these features into account.
The equipment of the Russian warrior includes two knives: multifunctional and combat. The second is sometimes replaced by a bayonet-knife. All tools are highly durable. Since 1993, they have been manufactured by KAMPO, a company specializing in the manufacture of military, diving, and rescue equipment. Many years of experience in production and design allowed the company to participate in a project to prepare equipment for the Russian military.
From the history
The history of the Bumblebee knife dates back many centuries. Rifle bayonets began to be used in the 17th century in the French army. This was due to the convenience of using such weapons at close range. It is impossible to use firearms in close collisions. The appearance of a bayonet eased the task of warriors.
Later, with the development of technology, when the release of firearms became widespread, the bayonets lost their relevance.
In the 1950s, bayonets appeared in Russia in the sports field, in fencing on carbines.
The acute need for bayonet-knives was felt by the soldiers during the war in Afghanistan. In this area, standard weapons are not very effective. Gradually began to introduce bayonets. They have become a universal tool to help soldiers survive in difficult climatic zones.
American soldiers during the Vietnam War declared that their equipment, weapons and knives are not suitable for use in local conditions. The old bayonet-knife design was unsuccessful and inconvenient. I must say that many universal tools are considered not too reliable. After all, the knife is designed to perform some functions, and the bayonet - for others. The combination of various functions reduces the performance of weapons.
In 2010, the Bumblebee bayonet knife was born, combining multifunctionality and reliability. When inventing it, the accumulated experience of past developments was taken into account.
Combat knives in Russia are produced under the designation 6 x 9. Today, the name “Bumblebee” knife “Warrior” is also popular. These guns are produced as part of the Ratnik project by the Nizhny Novgorod company SARO, which won the competition for the production of combat knives.
Weapon Features
Knife "Bumblebee" - an army tool needed as a weapon and for survival. Its purpose:
- in close combat;
- to eliminate fighting dogs;
- to defeat enemy weapons by throwing or cutting;
- for escorting captured enemies.

Blade
The blade of the combat knife "Bumblebee" is made of high alloy steel, not subject to rust and oxidation. It is also given hardness in the range of 55-58 Rockwell units, which makes the blade flexible and resilient.
The surface of the blade is matted, which eliminates glare. Anti-glare coating is one of the requirements for army weapons. The shape of the blade is diamond-shaped, with one and a half sharpening.
The blade cannot be very sharp so as not to cause injuries if not handled properly and to enter the body too deeply.
The blade of this weapon does not have an opening for nippers, shock teeth, but it has a longitudinal recess that facilitates weight relief.
The blade is protected by steel sheaths, guaranteeing safety when carrying this weapon. The surface of the sheath is coated with black polymer.
Garda
The knife is equipped with a guard made of high strength steel. This is the crossbar separating the blade and the hilt. A guard is needed to prevent slipping when striking. Garda has a special design:
- its upper part is bent towards the butt, which creates support for the thumb and makes it possible to hook the knife onto the belt;
- the lower part is made in the shape of a ring so that it can be put on the trunk.
Handle
The handle shape of this good knife is comfortable, ergonomic, made of high-strength rubber with oil and gas resistance.
Such rubber gives the surface roughness, which makes it convenient to find the knife in the palm of your hand. Six additional grooves are made on the handle.
Rubber ensures a long operation of the knife, because it is not afraid of dampness, dirt, the impact of an aggressive environment.
The handle has a noble black color. Its end part has a rounding with a groove in the shape of the letter "T" and a spring latch for attachment to the machine.
Such knives belong to the edged weapons group, therefore their free carrying is not allowed to civilians.
