Barbara Babcock is an American actress. The most famous for her was the role of Grace Gardner in the police drama Hill Street Blues, for which the actress will later be awarded the Emmy Award.
Childhood
The future actress was born on February 27, 1937 in the city of Fort Riley, Kansas, USA.
Although Barbara Babcock was born in the United States, the girl spent most of her childhood in Tokyo since her father, Conrad Stanton Babcock, was a United States Army general and worked outside of America. Barbara initially learned Japanese, which she considers her mother tongue, and after going to school she chose English as a foreign language.
After graduation, Barbara Babcock entered the University of Lausanne, which is located in Switzerland. Then the girl will move to Italy, where she will enter the University of Milan.
Career
Babcock appeared on television in 1956. The actress played several episodes in Star Trek, although the bulk of her work consisted in voice acting. In 1968, she made her debut on the big screen, starring under the auspices of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Further, roles in the films “Sky with a Gun”, “Beat the Drum Slowly”, Chosen Survivors, “Black Ball”, “Country Roads”, “Lords of Discipline” and “It Was Then ... It Was Then” followed.
From 1978 to 1981, Barbara Babcock played the role of Liz Craig in the soap opera Dallas, which aired on CBS.
After many roles, Barbara began to be invited to shoot more serious projects. The fame was brought to the actress by the films Dixie's Heart, Happy Together, Undoubtedly, and Space Cowboys.
From 1993 to 1998, the actress played the role of Dorothy Jennings in the series Doctor Quinn, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role in the 1993 drama series.
