Solar plexus. What do we know about him?

The accumulation of many nerve elements located in the abdominal cavity, outside the nervous system, is called the solar plexus. Why such a name? Firstly, this “ball” of cells can be compared with the sun of the human body, from which, like the sun's rays, energy flows to all vital parts of the body. When a person is asleep, the energy distribution mechanism actively “works”, distributes energy to those parts of the body where it is especially needed, thereby correcting the imbalance that formed during the day. Secondly, if a person is hit hard in this area of the body, then he loses consciousness, in other words, the light “fades” before the person, and the light, accordingly, is the sun. Here is such a simple comparison, but it has a certain meaning.

Without delving into medical or esoteric terminology, we can say in simple and understandable terms for everyone: the solar plexus is inextricably linked with the respiratory system, diaphragm, adrenal glands, spleen, liver, stomach, gall bladder. You can continue, but without this it is clear that we are talking about a very valuable and important organ of the human body, and if you feel pain or even just discomfort in this area, you need to immediately pay attention, as this can be a signal that there are serious problems with health.

So, there is no doubt about the importance of the solar plexus for the proper functioning of the body, so it is not surprising that this organ is especially vulnerable. A blow to the solar plexus can lead to the most sad consequences, such as a rupture of the diaphragm, which can form a hernia, and surgical intervention is indispensable here. If the blow is not particularly strong, then this also does not bode well: the contraction of the diaphragm displaces the air from the lungs, convulsions appear, breathing is disturbed and, as a result, the person loses consciousness. You need to know what happens to the body when a person receives a blow to the solar plexus. You can understand that the body is sounding the alarm if:

- the victim cannot speak;

- a pronounced feeling of severe pain in the abdomen;

- nausea and vomiting.

To help a person who has suffered from a blow to the solar plexus, you first need to put him down, leaning a little forward, and preferably provide support (this needs to be done only after some time, when the victim will already be able to move). You should talk, calm, argue that the spasm will soon pass, and you can again breathe normally. If the prerequisites for loss of consciousness are noticed, immediately lay on your side and release the airways as much as possible. Of course, you must immediately call the "ambulance"!

Categorically it is impossible: to touch, massage, rub or otherwise disturb the abdominal area. Of course, to avoid danger, it is best to prevent it and protect the solar plexus from various kinds of strokes. To do this, you need to know, and even better - to possess at least elementary methods of defense, namely: to be able to get away from the blow and, if necessary, to strike a counterattack, and better - not just one. Even if this is done at a level far from professionalism, it will confuse the attacker and give a chance to equalize forces, at least.

So, now we know that the solar plexus, a strike on which can be very dangerous for the human body, performs many functions. It is better to avoid mechanical injuries and strokes in this area, as convulsive cramps can block a person’s breathing, which can lead to death. Of course, daily exercise can strengthen the solar plexus and abdomen, so it’s better to at least occasionally perform certain exercises to strengthen this muscle group!
