A stuffy nose and a runny nose ... The diagnosis is rhinitis. This quite common disease at least once in my life, but everyone fell ill. In particular, acute rhinitis. The causes of the disease are: allergic reactions to irritants, infections, etc. Chronic rhinitis is much less common, but it does not become less painful. It is a consequence of the manifestation of acute rhinitis or prolonged exposure to adverse external factors.
Chronic rhinitis Symptoms of this disease are as follows: nasal sinus congestion, mucous or mucopurulent discharge, appearance of crusts in the nose, decreased sense of smell, etc. All these symptoms are similar in nature to the symptoms of acute rhinitis, but they are not so pronounced.
Treatment of chronic rhinitis
Note that chronic rhinitis is of infectious and non-infectious origin, depending on what they are divided into types.
Are you diagnosed with chronic rhinitis? Treatment should begin without delay. First of all - medication, in combination with folk remedies, which can be used at home.
Chronic rhinitis: drug treatment
It should be noted here that drug treatment will depend on the type and form of the disease. A doctor's consultation is needed. In the treatment of catarrhal rhinitis, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial ointments and drops are most often used, atrophic - means that improve the condition of the nasal mucosa, allergic - antihistamines and, if necessary, antibacterial agents, etc. Physiotherapeutic procedures are prescribed for patients, such as UHF, laser therapy and others. At high temperature - without a doubt antipyretic drugs. All medications are used only on the recommendation of specialists.
Note: the use of funds for nasal instillation should be taken by patients with caution, using them no more than 10-14 days in a row. Long-term use of these funds can lead to a deterioration in the condition of the nasal mucosa. It is here that one should resort to folk remedies with a more gentle action.
Chronic rhinitis: treatment with alternative methods
Common rhinitis cases, as mentioned above, are instillation of the nose. A good effect in this case is given by Kalanchoe juice, Calendula juice, juice squeezed from red geranium leaves. In the first two cases, the method of use is as follows: three drops at least three to four times a day. In the third - the number of receptions is the same, only two drops each. Menthol oil also gives a positive result. Bury three to five drops in each nostril. In parallel, they can also lubricate the forehead, temples, behind the ears.
In addition to instillation, a method of washing the sinuses is widely used. To do this, you can use warm slightly salted water, prepared at the rate of a teaspoon of salt for ½ liter of water. You can add tinctures of medicinal herbs to the resulting solution: eucalyptus, sophora or calendula. Rinsing is carried out as follows: the head leans to the side, the solution is drawn in by one nostril (the second is clamped by hand), and spits out through the mouth. Then the same procedure is performed from the second nostril.
For the treatment of rhinitis, tampons with propolis oil can be placed in the nose: chopped propolis - mix about 20 grams with a small amount of butter and sunflower oil, bringing to a mass of 100 grams. Cotton swabs moistened with the obtained oil should be placed in the sinuses in the morning and evening.
A positive effect in the treatment of this disease is provided by warming up the legs and hot foot baths, which, however, is not carried out in the presence of high body temperature.
A good remedy is inhalation. For their implementation, you can use eucalyptus oil (add a few drops of oil to hot water, breathe over steam), infusions of raspberry, currant, marigold flowers and other medicinal plants (10-20 grams of grass per 200 milliliters of hot water). Time - up to 10 minutes, period - from a week to 10 days.
If rhinitis is accompanied by high fever, it is necessary to take antipyretic drugs. It can be medicinal herbs: raspberries, linden, lingonberries, rose hips.
As you can see, when diagnosing "chronic rhinitis", treatment at home is not only possible, but also welcome. The main thing is not to forget to take care of your health.
