How to straighten your back

About a man who has a straight back, shoulders are straightened and his head is raised high, they say that he has royal posture. Agree that it is much more pleasant to watch such people than stooped or crooked sideways. In noble Russia of the 19th century, straightening the back with exotic operations was not practiced, so a lot of attention was paid to prevention. From infancy, children were shown how to properly stand and sit, taught to monitor themselves and constantly control their abdominal muscles. As a result of this concern for the younger generation, stooped and crooked backs among the nobles were an exception to the rule. To the great regret of doctors, in our time the question "how to straighten your back?" mostly dancers and fashion models are asked, but the vast majority of the population does not even think about such “trifles”.

But a flat back is not only the key to good posture, but also the prevention of a whole bunch of diseases of the spine and internal organs. This means that the work of almost all the most important body systems directly depends on the state of the muscles that support the ridge in a normal position.

Is it possible to straighten the back, which for many years suffered from constant curvature? Is it possible to correct the posture when the situation is very running? Let's get it right.

Causes and consequences

Before you ask yourself how to straighten your back, you need to try to understand what led to the consolidation of the habit of slouching. It is possible that when you determine the causes of incorrect posture, it will be easier to go to the root of the problem. So let's try to figure out how the normal, beautiful back, which a person receives from birth, mutates in the process of growing into kyphosis, scoliosis, and other "oz."

Firstly, as already mentioned, the main reason is weak muscles. Due to the fact that modern people have fewer reasons for movement, their muscles are weakening, and with each new generation the situation only worsens. What kind of muscle can we talk about if we now have cars, sedentary work, televisions or computers, an abundance of fatty foods in the complete absence of craving for sports (to cheer for the football team, this, unfortunately, is not a sport). Compare this picture with the one that existed 100-200 years ago. There were no telephones and computers at all; people rode on horseback or walked. Among the nobility, hunting and fishing were popular leisure activities. The peasants worked in the field. And in the process of all these types of physical activity, the muscles themselves strengthened, and the question of how to straighten the back was simply not on the agenda. Why straighten out what is direct since childhood? Unfortunately, now everything is completely different.

Secondly, our inability to distribute the load and sit properly is to blame. And the first point only exacerbates the problem. Weak muscles in combination with improper posture give an impetus to the onset of posture curvature. And the longer a person sits or works in the wrong position, the stronger this curvature is fixed and the more difficult it is to deal with it later.

But is the situation really hopeless?

There are no hopeless situations, it happens that there is no desire to deal with them. So let's see what are the paths to the goal. But we have one goal - to learn how to straighten your back. The best and most reliable way to achieve this is through special exercises.

Back Exercises

  • Sit on a chair, legs firmly pressed to the floor, back straight. You look directly and try to remember this position, if you remember, start stretching your chin forward without moving your head. Run 10 times.
  • Starting position as in the first exercise, we stretch the torso as high as possible, while pulling the shoulder blades very close together. Run 10 times.
  • From the same starting position, we bend back slightly on inspiration, at the same time, lower our shoulders down, trying to bring the shoulder blades as close as possible. On exhalation we tighten the stomach and return to I. p. Run 10 times.
  • In a standing position, we straighten our back, we raise our hands up and bend at the elbows, we hook our palms into the lock and we put them behind the shoulder blades in turn. Run 10 times.

By regularly doing such simple exercises, you can straighten your posture and significantly improve your well-being. The main thing is not to be lazy and take care of yourself.
