Director Biography
Rezo Gigineishvili was born in Tbilisi on March 19, 1982 in the family of a doctor and violinist. The Gigineishvili family lived in the city until the changes in the country forced their parents to pack their belongings and leave their hometown, taking away from the dangerous situation the children - Rezo and Tamara. In Moscow, children continued their studies and were drawn into a new life, although refugee status made them experience many difficult moments. But over time, the life of the Georgian family fell into a rut. Rezo Gigineishvili entered VGIK at the directing department, feeling in himself the desire to make a movie. Already during his studies, he shot several commercials and videos that deserved recognition and clearly spoke about the young man’s talent.
Career
The beginning talented director got a job as an assistant in Ostankino, where he began his career. Then he was noticed by friends who advised Fyodor Bondarchuk to give the young man a chance to practice in a big movie. The post of the second director in the filming of the film "9 Company" went to a Georgian who was just starting his career in cinema. After successful work on the set, Rezo Gigineishvili began his own path. Films made by him independently received the approval and recognition of the audience. The first work was the painting "Heat". But the relationship did not begin to develop immediately, Rezo was married. Anastasia Kochetkova, a graduate of the Star Factory, became his first wife . Rezo and Anastasia have a daughter. Nevertheless, the feelings that arose between Nadezhda and Rezo forced the director to divorce his first wife in order to become free for Nadia. The young people played a wedding in Georgia, according to all national customs. Young even learned traditional Georgian dance. Wedding dresses were specially ordered in accordance with tradition. The Nadezhda family accepted her daughter’s choice naturally and joyfully, seeing how happy Nadia was with her chosen one. Young people find a common language in everything, work together. Hope is removed from her husband, but Rezo does not prohibit her from participating in other paintings. In 2011 and 2013, the couple had children - a daughter and a son.
