Cube root

Almost every person wants to improve, to go to something more serious and complex. Everyone does it their own way. Some are looking for work in which, over time, they will occupy leadership positions, others are eager to just earn more money. It was always believed that the smarter a person, the greater success he will achieve. But there are those who perfect their minds and hone the art of computing. The cubic root (its calculation) is one of the common ways to “put your brains in order”.

From ancient times it was believed that training the mind is the path to gaining wisdom. The ancient Greeks, who reached great heights in mathematics, said that "every person is born a sage, but not everyone can find him inside himself." Recently, it has become very popular to develop the ability to perform complex and sometimes cumbersome calculations in the mind. The cubic root, which is not so easy to calculate if the number is large enough, is one way. There are several common options for how to extract a cube root from a number. Consider a couple.

Method number 1

Sometimes you can find posters stating that one person carries out the most complicated calculations in the mind, including the calculation of the cubic root. For some time, it was not clear how this is done, but the calculation algorithm is known, and everyone can show off their skills.

The extraction of the cubic root is carried out by “clipping from the number”. First you need to remember one simple pattern: the last digits and the result of the cubing, for some numbers, namely 1, 4, 5, 6 and 9 are the same. Let's look at a specific example. Suppose we need to extract the cubic root from the number 85 184. Consider the largest group in this number - thousands, this is 85. Which number in the cube will give the closest value to 85 but will not exceed it? This number is 4. Now consider the remaining numbers 184. Note that it ends with 4. The only single-digit number that gives 4 when raising to the 3rd power is the end of a multi-digit number, it is 4. It turns out that the answer to the question is number 44. Multiply it by ourselves 2 times (44x44x44) and get 85184.

Method number 2

The cubic root can also be extracted by expanding the number in a Taylor series. However, this option is much more complicated than the previous one. We will need a clear knowledge of the decomposition formula, and all operations will need to be calculated not in the mind, but on paper. Since the cubic root is raising the number to the power 1/3, we will carry out calculations with raising the number 5. Having expanded this number in the Taylor series, we get an answer with a miserable error. However, calculations had to be done a lot. Therefore, this method is not the most profitable from the point of view of saving time. After all, if the number is very large, then it will take a lot of effort to solve

There is of course another way, a calculator. On engineering calculators, it is possible to extract a cubic root from a number with the click of a button. As mentioned above, there are a lot of ways to extract a cubic root from a number. And all the time there are enthusiasts who are trying more and more new options. Now, if desired, you can find tables with the value of the cubic roots of all numbers. You can make your own table yourself, for fun or for a brain-warming-up. Of course, this is not a matter of one day, but such a pastime can be turned into an interesting and rather rare hobby. After all, the score, no matter what, is a very good training for the mind. The most important thing is not how and what you think, but whether you do it at all. All people are unique, there are unique people who make all the most complicated calculations in the mind. This gift is from nature by them. All the rest can develop these abilities in themselves. Try, and maybe you are the next one to come up with another way to calculate the cube root of a number.
