After graduating from high school, the future actress began her career with a modeling agency, which helped her in 1979 to win the title of “Miss Spain”. Her modeling career did not end there, as in the same year she entered the semifinal of the twenty-ninth Miss World contest in London, the capital of Great Britain.

The event attracted public attention: a record number of spectators watched the 70 most beautiful girls in the world - 500 million people. Then the title of "Miss World" was won by Gina Swainson, a representative of Bermuda. Interestingly, the victory day of this model became a national holiday in her homeland.
