The anus or anus is the lowermost extremity of the anus. It is intended to remove undigested food residues from the body. The anus of a person, like other vertebrates, is located separately from the genital and urinary openings. Two sphincters surround the anus - the external, controlled by the human mind, which is formed by striated muscles, and the internal, which is a thickening of the muscles of the rectum. In children, the anus is not located as in adults, but at a distance of about 2 cm from the coccyx.
The anus is most of the time reduced as much as possible, which creates a barrier to the involuntary release of feces. Most of its basal tone is determined by its internal sphincter. The appearance in the
rectum of natural secretions causes relaxation of this type of musculature of the rectum. As a result, the so-called "rectoanal reflex" occurs. If the coordination between the muscles of the pelvic floor and sphincters is impaired or even absent, then in this case constipation or other unpleasant consequences can occur. To diagnose the condition of this part of the body, anorectal therapy is often used.
The skin in this area is very sensitive and delicate. Therefore, itching in the anus can occur from causes such as constipation or diarrhea, as well as bowel movements in contact with the skin. The U.S. Department of Health offers some suggestions for avoiding these effects. The most important ones will be listed below.
Firstly, it is recommended to wash the anus after sending the need. Further, this area should be in a dry state. Underwear must be breathable to allow the skin to βbreatheβ. The same requirement can be attributed to other types of your clothes. Use moisture-absorbing pads if possible. They can be replaced with disposable underwear.
Sometimes there is not just an itch, but also a stronger sensation. If the anal hole hurts, this may be due to the so-called anal fissures - damage to the inner wall of the anal passage. They arise due to the contact of some food debris or foreign bodies (for example, a piece of bone) with the rectum, as well as with long diarrhea. Such sensations, manifested during defecation, may be a sign of the acute stage of the anal fissure, after defecation - a sign that the injury has already acquired a chronic form. Sensations in this case can be much stronger than, for example, with hemorrhoids. They can literally bring to groans and screams.
But if the anus hurts, this is not always a sign of an
anal fissure. If this syndrome is accompanied by the presence of blood in the feces, this may indicate
rectal cancer. With this disease, pain can be given to other parts of the body, including the genital area, lower abdomen and thighs.
These same symptoms can be signs of hemorrhoids. Exacerbation of this ailment can be associated with a wrong lifestyle, in particular, with excessive consumption of alcohol, physical exertion, excessive consumption of spicy foods.
If you feel pain in this place, then it is advisable to visit a specialist proctologist. Do not delay the visit to the doctor!
