Croupous pneumonia

Croupous pneumonia is called pleuropneumonia (another name is lobar pneumonia), which occurs as a result of acute infectious and allergic processes. The most common cause of this disease is a pathogen such as pneumococcus. Pneumonia develops for the most part due to weakening of the immune system, as well as a decrease in the cleansing work of the bronchi. Typically, the emergence of the disease contribute to severe hypothermia and colds. In this regard, most often croupous pneumonia appears in winter and spring. It should be noted that the working and living conditions of a person often affect the development of the pathological process.

A disease such as croupous pneumonia is most often found in areas where a cold and unstable climate is observed. Previously, among the internal diseases, the incidence of pleuropneumonia could take as little as fifteen percent. Now its share has increased to thirty. People of different ages get sick with croupous pneumonia - anyone at the age of eighteen to forty-five can be at risk.

This disease is characterized in that it affects the lower lobe in the right lung. At the same time, the pathological process tends to spread to the pleura as well. Symptoms of such pneumonia are fairly easy to recognize. Usually croupous pneumonia begins very acutely. A person develops a strong chill, which gradually develops into a fever. Body temperature rises very sharply and reaches forty degrees. A febrile condition becomes permanent. Possible wave-like fever. The temperature usually drops after a long enough time. In the absence of mandatory treatment with antibiotic drugs, a crisis may occur on the seventh to tenth day of illness. Its duration is no more than a day. However, with antibiotic treatment, the pathological process can be stopped already in the first phase of development. The main thing is to start treatment in a timely manner and take medication regularly. It is necessary. During treatment, a person’s temperature normalizes within two to three days.

The first hours of the disease are characterized by sharp and stitching pain in the chest - from the side where the lung is affected. This pain intensifies with a sigh, and a strong and dry cough is also observed. Two to three days after the onset of the disease, thick and viscous sputum begins to recede. Croupous pneumonia can be determined by the so-called "rusty" sputum. This means that sputum has blood impurities. The amount of such sputum can range from fifty to two hundred milliliters per day, and this is quite a lot. The patient feels very restless, an unhealthy glow appears on his cheeks, his eyes shine unnaturally, and breathing is difficult. Rashes may appear in the form of bubbles around the lips and at the wings of the nose of the patient.
