Laminated plywood: scope

If you are looking for a strong and durable material that can be used in construction, formwork, in the arrangement of parks and playgrounds, then laminated plywood is suitable for you. This material is made from various wood veneers. As a rule, birch, poplar, conifers or a mixture of different species are used. Its main quality is amazing moisture resistance and durability.

Depending on the purposes for which this material is made, it can be from 3 to 40 mm in thickness. The production of laminated plywood consists in joining veneer sheets with each other using a special glue that is resistant to temperature extremes and various atmospheric influences. After completion of this process, the sheets are pressed and then cut to give them the desired size.

The penultimate stage of processing is grinding, with which the laminated plywood is leveled and finally glued with a special film on both sides. It is thanks to this treatment that the material becomes moisture resistant, resistant to various aggressive environments and mechanical damage. By the way, for pasting, not ordinary film is used, but special paper impregnated with phenolic resin.

But without the final painting of the ends of the plywood sheets, all the work may be useless. Only because of this, the seams become protected no worse than the main surface, which allows them to be used in any conditions. They are usually treated with acrylic paint.

Due to its qualities, moisture-proof laminated plywood is used not only in outdoor works to create playgrounds or formwork of concrete structures. Often it is used for paneling vans, creating flooring in car bodies or partitions in temporary houses of builders. Often, you can also see from it the elements of the interior in modern homes. The pleasant appearance and the ability to choose the color (it depends only on the film with which its surface is pasted) make it possible to use this material for the manufacture of cabinets, hinged shelves, stands, racks.

But most often, laminated plywood is used for formwork when creating monolithic building structures. The combination of lightness, strength and wear resistance allows you to use the same sheets about 20 times, while the overlap and surface of the walls will be excellent. To increase the life of the sheets, they are treated with a special composition that prevents concrete from sticking to them. After solidification of the monolith, the plywood structure is disassembled quite easily. By the way, the installation of this material is quite simple - it can be attached to any base using self-tapping screws.

Depending on the wishes of customers, laminated plywood can be produced with a smooth or rough (mesh) surface. The latter option becomes popular in those cases when it is necessary to obtain a non-slip coating. For example, in the manufacture of floors in public transport, flooring on construction sites or truck bodies, preference is given to a mesh plywood coating.
