In the American town of Sommerton, bordering Mexico, a series of unpleasant and alarming events takes place. The arrival of an impressive man who recommended himself as a Hollywood music video maker (Peter Stormare) and began hastily filming an occupation of farmland caused a lot of rumors among the townspeople. In a local cafe in which all visitors know each other, ill-mannered and suspicious personalities appear. At the same time, drug lord Cortes (Eduardo Noriega) escapes in Las Vegas. He is haunted by special forces, helicopters, FBI agents and a clumsy African American agent (Forest Whitaker), but to no avail. “The Return of the Hero” turned out to be an extremely sunny and cheerful action movie, unlike the pathos and seemingly serious “The Expendables” and the fifth “Die Hard”. Goodies and villains communicate among themselves with extremely unprecedented phrases, it is impossible to listen to their dialogues without laughter. This is the merit of the screenwriter Andrew Knauer, who inserted the inevitable funs about the personality of the ex-governor in suitable episodes and did not force Schwarzenegger to repeat the classic phrase - I'll be back. It is noticeable that the entire film crew enjoyed working together on the project “The Return of the Hero”. Actors felt at ease, Johnny Knoxville, for example, behaved the same way as in his own program "Freaks." And to the best of the plump mustachioed man in the prime of his life, Louis Guzman managed to arrange in one episode of shootings such that no modern superhero was allowed to repeat.
