Javi Martinez is a Spanish footballer playing for the German Bayern. This year he turned 28 years old, and we can safely say that now he is at the peak of his career, although frequent injuries prevent him from reaching a constant maximum level. Javi Martinez acts in the position of the central defender, however, he can also play a defensive midfielder and even rise higher to the center of the field.
Carier start
Javi Martinez was born on September 2, 1988 in Spain, in the city of Estella, where he started playing football at the Berseo Club Academy when he was only five years old. During his childhood, Martinez changed more than one football academy, until in 2000 he ended up at the Osasuna club, where he stayed for a long time, and in 2005 signed a professional contract. However, Javi Martinez did not even have time to play properly for his club - he played 32 double games, and in the summer of 2006, Athletic from Bilbao signed it for 6 million euros.
Going to Athletic
It was an impressive amount for a 17-year-old teenager, but the transfer met all expectations. From the first season, Xavi began to play in the starting lineup and showed himself only from the best side. He spent six years at the club, chalking up 240 matches in which he scored 25 goals. Martinez has almost become a legend of his club, but in 2012 Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes, after a not-so-successful season, when his club was second in all tournaments, wanted to strengthen himself with this particular player. An experienced coach knew what he was doing, because this transfer turned out to be one of the most important that year.
Triumph in Bavaria

Martinez’s transfer to Bavaria became the most expensive in the club’s history - forty million euros were paid for it, and Xavi agreed to pay part of his salary for this amount so that the transfer would take place. And in the end, it was Martinez and his midfield ligament with Bastian Scheinsteiger that had a major impact on the outcome of the 12/13 season, in which Bayern won the treble by winning the German Championship, German Cup and Champions League. However, Heynckes retired, and instead came Guardiola, who did not really let the Spaniard play. There was another reason why Javi Martinez rarely appeared on the field - an injury. For example, in the 14/15 season, he spent only three matches on the field due to damage. In four years at Bayern, he played 104 matches, scoring 4 goals, and this season, after the departure of Guardiola, he began to return to his previous level. He has already played 19 matches and is currently one of the best players in the club this season.
