To know what the law is is not only to own the concept, but its foundations and essence. This is generally an important aspect of life in modern society, because our whole life is somehow controlled by law. Firstly, it serves to prevent and prevent crimes or offenses. Secondly, it helps society systematize its life, which allows it to remain stable for as long as possible. Thirdly, it prescribes all our fundamental rights, and also puts them at the forefront, recognizing their supremacy (respectively, the law sets the task to protect, fulfill and restore our rights).
First step
To begin with, we’ll deal with the concept of “law.” This is a need that will allow you to get a general idea about it, because its execution for all people (not only citizens) who are in the territory of the Russian Federation (or other states) is mandatory. Remember that "ignorance of the law does not exempt from liability." I would like to note right away that the concept of “law” is different for each author, and as such there is no single definition. It is necessary to take into account the discipline within which you consider this term.
Right
For example, a recognized concept in the legal system is as follows: the law is a normative legal act with the highest legal force (NLA) , adopted by the highest representative (legislative) body, regulating public relations. What is legal force? These are NPA places in the system of law or its supremacy (the system is hierarchical). This means that the law is at the top of the legal system. An example would be the Constitution of the Russian Federation - the basic law on the territory of the Russian Federation. In a broad sense, a law is any legal act operating in a particular legal system. But here it should be borne in mind that the by-laws also apply to the legal acts , but they are not a direct reference to the concept of the law (they are issued to help him, but their legal force is much less). We can say that the law is a normative legal act adopted by the legislative subject of the Russian Federation. But this concept is not entirely correct from the point of view of law. After all, it does not reveal the main meaning of the concept. Under this definition, you can fit any legal act, even a local one (the one that is published and adopted at the local level, that is, in various organizations and institutions), and it is at the very bottom of the hierarchy of law by its legal force.

Variety of law
Each sphere has its own definition of the word "law". This concept will be different depending on the area in which we use it. It can be a social area, religious or other. That is, for example, the law is (in philosophy) the essential laws between phenomena. As you can see, the concepts are very different (due to the fact that philosophy studies the foundations of being, and jurisprudence studies the existence of people, the state and civilization as a whole in the legal system). In physics, the law can also consider patterns, only between physical phenomena. By the way, every science has its own laws (almost every one). The same physics, for example, has Ohm’s law or Archimedes ’s law , etc. They should also be known, because otherwise we will not be able to solve a particular problem on this topic, and also advance in the study of science. Philosophy also has its own laws. This is necessary in order to facilitate the process of cognition of science as much as possible. Knowing the laws, we actually know thousands of laws of this or that sphere.

Difficulties
As you can already understand, the meaning of the word “law” (as well as its meaning) varies markedly depending on what kind of science we are considering. However, it should be remembered that knowledge of the law (if we consider the system of law) is incredibly important for our life. It will regulate all spheres of life, which means that if we want, for example, to open our own enterprise, we will have to do this in accordance with current legislation. But that’s how it sounds ideal. In fact, we have thousands of articles and dozens of codes, which even a professional lawyer cannot study. In addition, laws are updated every year (if not more often), they are amended, new articles are developed. So an ordinary citizen, as a rule, cannot afford to know all of them (even a small part of them). Various codifications (the process of combining the rules of law that govern the same sphere of society in a single code), systematization (the intellectual process of building a unified system of legal norms) and incorporation (the process of combining all available legal norms, for example, the Code of Laws of the Russian Federation), which significantly facilitate the process of searching and studying a particular legal norm or a whole system of norms.
Total
As you can see, the law is a concept that will differ markedly depending on the sphere in which we use it. But there is one thing in common between them that unites all the terms - this is their importance both in the process of life and in scientific knowledge.
