Happy car owners, depending on the method of acquiring vehicles, are forced to solve certain issues related to their import into the country. One of these issues is the need to go through a car customs clearance procedure. So, what are the rules for customs clearance in Belarus?
In accordance with the legal standards adopted for the countries of the Customs Union (CU), as well as with domestic legislation relating to customs relations of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, it is forbidden to transport cars freely and freely in these countries. Both Belarus and Russia have taken a number of measures that are aimed at supporting domestic car manufacturers. This practice is used in many countries.
When buying a car abroad and when importing it into the countries of the Customs Union , customs clearance is necessary. In Belarus and in Russia there are many nuances, depending on which the cost of this procedure is determined: engine size, date of manufacture of the car and others.
Customs clearance in Belarus is carried out by processing the necessary documents for the procedure. In this case, they are guided by special rules for customs control and clearance. Normative documents in this case are the Customs Code of the Customs Union and the Agreement of 06/18/2010.
The car status is confirmed by the following documents:
a) those cars that have been registered in the Republic of Belarus need a certificate of registration of a car;
b) for those who are not registered, documents are issued that are drawn up at the customs border when placing the car under transit, or a special registration certificate that states that the car is deregistered. Such a certificate must be signed by the head of the registration department and the seal of this department. In addition, the owner must have in his hands documents with which he can confirm the payment of customs duties on the territory of the Customs Union.
After all the nuances with the documents have been resolved, the car owner is issued a passport for the vehicle.
Customs clearance in Belarus is not a free procedure. The amount that you have to pay depends on the year the car was released, on the volume of its engine and other important indicators.
Customs payments were established in July 2011. And until now, customs clearance of cars in Belarus is subject to the same rules.
So, the size of customs duties on cars that are imported from abroad by individuals is as follows:
- If you import a car no older than 3 years old, and its cost is up to 8500 euros, then the rate is 54% of the price of the car, if the price exceeds 169 000 euros, then the rate will be 48%.
- When importing a car, the age of which is between 3 and 5 years, the cost will be determined depending on the engine size. If the volume is up to 1000 cubic centimeters, you will have to pay a fee of 1.5 euros for each cube. see. In the case when the engine displacement exceeds 3000, the rate per cubic meter. see will be equal to 3.6 euros.
If the age of the imported car is more than 5 years, the customs duty is also determined based on engine volumes: up to 1000 cubic meters. see you will pay 3 euros per cubic meter, if the volume is above 3000, pay 5.7 euros.
A motorcycle customs clearance in Belarus will require the following documents from the owner:
- transit numbers;
- technical passport for the motorcycle;
- insurance;
- invoice certificates;
- rights of category "A".
In some cases, additional documents may be required.
During the customs clearance procedure, it is necessary to pay customs duty (20% of the motorcycle cost), import VAT (20% of the motorcycle cost) and a small amount for paperwork.
