Perhaps somewhere you stumbled upon a concept such as "baccarat." The question naturally arises: baccarat - what is it? This word denotes several completely separate concepts. However, they have something in common - all of them are of French origin. Different dictionaries offer their own definition. However, it is worth analyzing all the interpretations in order to be aware and not to fall into the mud due to their incompetence. So, we will consider all the options for answering the question of what is baccarat.
Canton and commune
In France, there is such an administrative-territorial unit as the canton. One of the cantons in Lorraine is called Baccarat. In total, it includes 20 communes, and the main one, it is easy to guess just Baccarat. Both the canton and its main commune are called the same, like everything in France. They are glorified by the production of crystal and products from it.
Crystal
In France, in 1764, a factory was founded in a city called Baccarat - an enterprise where employees work whose work is exclusively manual, and this work is strictly divided into separate operations of a production nature. It was here that they established the production of crystal.
The made crystal is so good and high-quality that it is considered the most valuable, the highest quality. Products from a similar material are of the same name. Today, the company produces not only crystal products, but also jewelry, and even perfume.

There is a card game called Baccarat. Its essence lies in the collection by one player of the highest number of points of all players, subject to the use of two or three cards. Initially, the participants made their own decisions on the collection of an additional third card.
Today, when they come to the casino for games of this kind, there are rules that strictly regulate the decision to take a card. There is still some debate about the origin of this game. However, her name is French.
Wine
Wine made in Ukraine from red grape varieties is called “Baccarat”. It is saturated ruby color, has a pleasant taste in which you can distinguish notes of prune and chocolate. Also known is the Spanish wine Finca Baccarat, which is made from a grape variety such as Monastrel.
Chocolate
In France, in the city of Baccarat, around the middle of the 20th century, a family business appeared, which was based on the production of chocolate. To date, the Baccarat chocolate brand is Belgian (production was moved to Belgium).
Roses
A French breeder has developed a variety of roses, the color of which is today considered the closest to black. These roses are called black baccarat. Since the 19th century, attempts have been made to develop a variety of absolutely black roses.
However, the goal was never achieved. But the beauty of “black baccarat”, their noble color prove that they are rightfully considered the blackest and at the same time one of the most beautiful roses in the whole world. In honor of this variety, the Spanish female pop group, which was popular in the 70-80s of the 20th century, was even named.
