In the movie, everything is simple and ironic. The actors were amazed at how the singer organically combines touring with the filming process.
Casting actresses for the role of Bethany became even more problematic. The creators considered the candidacy of Joey Lauren Adams, Gillian Anderson and Alanis Morissatt, who played God.
