Technical requirements for photographs on documents are established by GOST R 52112-2003. These standards are binding on all business entities, regardless of their affiliation with a particular legal form, as well as individual entrepreneurs who provide image production services.
The technical requirements for photographs on documents include both general standards established by GOST and obligations to ensure the health and life of customers, preserve their property and protect the environment. The provisions of the current standard are the basis that applies when writing instructions for specific types of filming. This GOST was introduced for use on January 1, two thousand and four. Previously, analogues to this document have not been published.
The technical requirements for photographs on documents contain a number of specific regulatory rules:
- the production of personal photographs is carried out in color or black and white using laminated blanks or without a protective film;
- photographs should have a certain size, which depends on the purpose of the document, be made on paper intended for photographs, and not go beyond the requirements put forward by the relevant departments;
- at the request of the customer, a photo format intended for use in certificates, passes, etc. may differ from the normative;
- personal photographs must have a full-face image, even the slightest rotation of the head is not allowed;
- facial expressions in photographs should not distort the features of a person;
- photography is made without a headdress in plain clothing;
- a personal picture on the documents allows the presence of glasses, if a person suffers from a visual impairment, except when tinted windows close his eyes;
- the image in a personal photograph should have clarity, medium contrast and have a soft picture of chiaroscuro (general and detailed blurring of the picture, as well as the presence of fuzzy glare in the eyes, is strictly not allowed);
- the background color should differ from the depicted face in a lighter tone, while being even, without spots, stripes, etc .;
- during the production of technical retouching of negative distortion of facial features is prohibited;
- traces of a chemical or other positive retouch are not allowed;
- the image in the photographs for documents must be of a sufficient degree of stability, which must comply with the standards of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, if the customer has met all the requirements for its storage.
The technical requirements for photographs on documents also contain the basic parameters of the image. These include:
- general dimensions;
- the size of the depicted face, which is set in certain percentages in relation to the area of ββthe entire photograph;
- field sizes ;
- the tone of the picture (black and white or color);
- type of photo paper (glossy or matte);
- background color.
The requirements for photographs on the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation were slightly changed after the publication of the order of the FMS of Russia, which was dated September 2, two thousand and eleven. According to new requirements:
- the size of the passport photograph should be forty-five millimeters long and thirty-five wide;
- the image of the head should occupy at least eighty percent of the format of the photograph, and should be thirty-two to thirty-six millimeters long, and eighteen to twenty-five wide, with no shoulders in the frame;
- above the head image there should be a field the size of which is five millimeters, with an allowable error per unit parameter;
- the background should have uniformity and be white or light gray;
- The photo paper used should be glossy.
