Boarding School: Special Education Programs

A boarding school is a special educational institution for children under the age of majority, with the possibility of students staying around the clock. Such educational institutions are being created with the aim of assisting families in raising the younger generation, as well as increasing the level of social protection of children and the development of their giftedness.

The following types of boarding schools exist and operate in our country: ordinary, advanced, boarding schools, gymnasiums, boarding schools. They differ not only in the programs of teaching disciplines, but also in the contingent of recruited students who need guardianship by the state. Here, children from ordinary families can be trained here, in whose territory there are no comprehensive schools.

A regular boarding school gives students all the knowledge that they receive in full-time schools. That is, students go through all three levels of education: primary, basic secondary and full secondary. Such a boarding school usually accommodates children without parents for one reason or another or children from dysfunctional families.

A boarding school with in-depth study of subjects is created for gifted children with a creative and scientific mentality. For example, there are physical and mathematical boarding schools where children who win the various competitions are recruited. The competitive basis for admission to such educational institutions allows you to recruit children with special abilities in a boarding school.

Also in our country there are special boarding schools for children with disabilities and developmental disabilities. We are talking, for example, about special educational institutions for the visually impaired, hard of hearing, etc. The program of such an educational institution is created on the basis of special techniques designed to ensure that a disabled child finds its place in society and, despite an illness, does not feel like an outcast .

A special role in the upbringing of the young generation is played by the types of boarding schools for children who are not yet supposedly at risk. Their main role is to protect adolescents from the harmful effects of the environment and to allow a child who is not mentally stronger to survive and not commit criminal acts.

Boarding school is a paid institution. Fees are charged to parents or their substitutes. In addition to training, children are provided with appropriate clothing, textbooks and other necessary accessories. On weekends and holidays, at the request of adults, pupils can go home.

Graduates of boarding schools where orphans are brought up must be employed.

A special place among educational institutions with a round-the-clock stay is occupied by a cadet boarding school. The main contingent recruited for such a school is children from low-income families, orphans and wards. The curriculum of this type of educational institution is designed for boys who, due to health reasons, are ready to go along with ordinary school subjects of military discipline. The infrastructure of the cadet boarding school is somewhat different from the usual. There must be a parade ground, a sports town, at least two paramilitary sites with obstacle courses, as well as a separate area for military equipment, a shooting gallery and an auto class.

The cadet boarding school also provides additional aesthetic education. Pupils have the opportunity to study choreography, engage in theater studios, play music and draw. But the main direction of the educational institution of this kind is military-patriotic education, associated with the formation of personality, which in the future will be ready to defend the fatherland.
