This is a program about scientists, many of whom received well-deserved recognition, and some remained only history.
A little about what rarely anyone asks
From the series "Inventions that Shook the World" viewers will learn many interesting and unusual facts about the creation of a particular subject. And one of these stories is the story of how the idea came up to create the first portable vacuum cleaner and how it later came to life.
One day, a simple Ohio department store employee who worked as a janitor thought about creating a device that would clean carpets without dust scattering. On one sleepless night, James Spengler dawned on attaching a motor with blades to the whisk, which he took from the ceiling fan, and instead of a dust collector he adapted one of his pillowcases.
The series "Inventions that Shook the World" tells the story of the creation of a special device, without which not a single firefighter on Earth can do now. In 1912, a heavy fire at the factory claimed the lives of more than 100 people. This tragedy greatly shocked one local entrepreneur - Garrett Morgan. Soon he came up with a special protective device, which he himself was the first to test when a gas explosion occurred in his city while working underground. He became a real hero. After this incident, about 500 cities bought his invention for their fire departments.
