Alexei Serebryakov, who played one of the main roles, was born on July 3, 1964 in the city of Moscow. He graduated from the State Institute of Theater Arts. A.V. Lunacharsky. He worked as an actor in the Syzran Drama Theater named after A.N. Tolstoy, in the Studio Theater under the direction of O. Tabakov. Since 2009, he has been an actor of the Lenkom Theater, playing in the musical Metro of the Moscow Operetta Theater and in the entreprise performance Novy.
In early 2012, Serebryakov emigrated with his family to Canada. The reason for his departure, according to the actor himself, was the unfavorable social situation in Russia, the growth of aggression and intolerance, and the authorities' failure to observe the basic civil rights of the population.
Alexey played the main role in the social drama Leviathan, which was released in world distribution in 2014. For this work, for the second time in the history of Russian cinema, the film was nominated for an award from the European Film Academy.
