Hamida Omarova: family, childhood
The actress was born in a family of foreign language teachers. Her mother and father met at the university. They played a wedding and settled in Baku. The history of the Omarov family is filled with sad events. Three of their children did not survive infancy. Hamida Omarova was born on April 25, 1957. Her parents considered her birth a miracle. They even made a pilgrimage to the Sophie-Hamid Sanctuary, which is located near the village of Sangachal. It was in honor of the sanctuary that the actress got her rare name.
