Max was born in England in 1967. Even at school, he showed great interest in sports: he participated in various sports competitions and played for the school football team. Max Ryan’s full-fledged acting career began in 2001 when, after appearing in two short films, Ultraviolet Babes (1998) and Yoorinal (2000), he starred in Chris Naon’s action movie “Kiss of the Dragon” - a film in which almost all of the fighting scenes were shot without using computer graphics. And two years later, along with Stephen Seagal, he became a foreigner in the main part of the American action movie Michael Oblobitz. The film tells the story of an operative who becomes the target of hired killers after receiving a mission to deliver a mysterious parcel from France to Germany.

In 2003, Max Ryan got a supporting role in Stephen Norrington's fantastic action movie The League of Outstanding Gentlemen, based on the eponymous comic book by Kevin O'Neill and Alan Moore. Then he became a member of the main cast of the thriller Robbie Henson's “Three Keys” (2006), based on the novel of the same name by American writer Ted Dekker. And as the main character appeared in the action movie of Yaroslav Zhamoydy “Corrupt” (2008).

In the fantastic action movie of Paul W. S. Anderson, “The Death Race” (2008), Max Ryan played the role of Mr. Panchenko, a Russian racer and leader of the prison Aryan brotherhood.
