Mateshko Olga Nikolaevna is an actress who played a bright heroine in one of the best Soviet films about the war. She has accounted for about forty works in the cinema, but for TV viewers she forever remained Zoe from the picture “Only Old Men Go into Battle”.
However, unlike his colleagues, Mateshko does not suffer from the title of “actress of one role”. She revises the film of Bykov all his life. The future actress was born in 1947 in a small town near Kiev. Even while studying at school, Olga knew about who she wanted to become. From an early age she performed on stage, read poetry. After leaving school, she left for Moscow and on the first attempt entered the Institute of Cinematography.

It was in her student years that Olga Nikolaevna Mateshko met her future husband. He began the career of Itygilov with camera work. And in 1980 he made his directorial debut. He made only seven films. If not for the tragic events of 1986, Itygilov could have done much more for Russian cinema.

After receiving the diploma, Olga Nikolaevna Mateshko returned to her native Kiev, where she began working at the film studio named after Dovzhenko.
Her first cinematography was one of the heroines of the film "He and She", which did not gain wide popularity. Then there were several more films. In 1973, Mateshko was able to not only reveal herself as an actress, but also forever enter her name in the annals of Russian cinema. Personal life
Despite the fact that Mateshko from an early age dreamed of becoming an actress, and later, having matured, she no longer imagined herself in another profession, the main thing for her was still not a movie, but a family.
The marriage with director Alexander Itygilov promised to be happy and long. But while participating in the aftermath of the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the husband of the actress received the strongest exposure. A long fight against lung sarcoma did not lead to recovery. The director died in 1990 in a Moscow clinic.
After that, Mateshko tried to concentrate on the work and education of her son. In 1994, the actress was part of the Ukrainian delegation of the United States. Having received an invitation from American artists, she emigrated. Mateshko Olga Nikolaevna lectured at the Manhattan Academy and broadcast on television.
