Professional club career
The first professional team for Chudinov was the native Cherepovets Severstal, playing in the Super League. The debut came at the end of the 2006/2007 season. Therefore, the 16-year-old defender managed to take part in only two fights. In the next two seasons, Maxim Chudinov occasionally entered the ice arena as part of his team, playing for 2 years in just 44 fights. Everything changed in 2009. The defender is not only securely entrenched in the main composition of Severstal, but also has become an indispensable player for his team. Maxim finished the 2009/10 season with excellent results: in 47 matches he scored 6 goals and gave 8 assists.

Maxim played 52 matches of the regular season, in which he scored 8 goals against the opponents and played the role of an assistant 15 times. “Severstal” was able to get into a series of playoffs, and Chudinov becomes the most useful player in the defense plan. But, as it turned out, this was not the limit of the defender's performance. The following season, Maxim Chudinov updates his performance record, gaining 35 (9 + 26) points in 52 matches. This performance defender helps Severstal to break into the playoff series again, and he will become a member of All KHL stars.
