Three and a half years ago, on February 4, 2013, Channel One hosted the premiere screening of the new series Rook, the actors and roles of which will be unveiled in this material. Pavel Trubiner, Svetlana Ivanova, Ivan Okhlobystin, Igor Staroseltsev and others are already involved in it. Despite the fact that it was shot based on the French television movie (as usual, adaptations to the Russian audience are not always successful), from the very first series the series won the hearts of a multimillion-dollar audience.
Storyline: Life After Death
At the very moment when the operation was held to free the hostage, 42-year-old Interior Ministry Major Sergei Grachev was seriously wounded: a bullet in the head. It is still not possible to extract it, but Sergey survives after a clinical death. He had the opportunity to see with his own eyes the very tunnel through which the deceased leave for another world. After that, his whole life radically changed. Now the ghosts of dead people come to him. And not just the dead, but the dead, and the criminals were never found.
With the help of the clues that the ghosts give him, the major begins to investigate the old things anew. In solving all the questions posed, Sergei uses newly discovered abilities. He very much hopes that he will investigate those crimes that his colleagues could not solve, more successfully.
Storyline: Isn't He Crazy?
The television series "Rook", the actors and roles in which are harmoniously selected, tells the audience a difficult story of the protagonist.
In parallel with the investigation of old cases, Sergei Grachev (or Grach, as his friends call him), trying to help the relatives of innocent victims as much as possible, tries to establish his relations at work and in his own family. After the injury, most of his friends are sure that Sergei became crazy and he needs treatment. The people the film "Rook" can rightfully be proud of are actors. And the roles that they got are thought out to the smallest detail, so the series perfectly demonstrates the realities of modern life, without creating the impression of simplicity.
So, again about the plot. After a while, the Rook's career begins to crumble: major began to suffer more and more headaches. As a result, Grachev is removed from office.
Storyline: family and health
Now Sergey with great difficulty manages to control the acquired gift. More often pain and aggression are manifested.
Svetlana, Sergeyβs wife, is confident that everything that happened to their once friendly family makes further cohabitation meaningless and impossible. She takes their common daughter Olya and moves to her parents. Grachev is very ill, he is crushed and upset.
Thus, the plot in the film "Rook" continues to develop. The actors and roles embodied by them in the series reflect the relationships of all characters.
Storyline: Love
Despite all the difficulties and troubles that happened in the life of the protagonist, there is one person next to him who cares what happens to Sergey (actor Pavel Trubiner). In difficult times, captain Daria Okhlopkova (artist Svetlana Ivanova) is with him side by side.
The fates of the characters literally woven together, and the relationship on the screen is devoid of artificiality - this was facilitated by well-chosen actors and roles. "Rook" - a 12-episode series - contained not only "conversations with ghosts", but also very real, vital relationships.
Svetlana cherishes in her soul a very fragile hope for the response feelings of her boss. She absolutely sincerely believes in his gift, that Sergey really sees ghosts. And rapprochement with the major occurs after Svetlana is captured by criminals who killed her father in the nineties.
Storyline: Work
Thanks to the proper use of his gift, Grach manages to uncover the fraud of the director of the hospital and the head of the military unit illegally selling weapons. Later there were cases related to the murder of the actress, and serious help to the higher management - Colonel Volkov. Sergey helped find the people who killed his wife.
Major Grachev continues to help people, but in parallel with his studies, his health is significantly deteriorating. The major begins nonsense, Sergey faints. The bullet, which is still inside, threatens the life of a young man. So interprets this very unusual story "Rook" (television series). The actors and the roles they played in the film make it possible not only to follow what is happening on the screen, but also to enjoy the magnificent game of professionals.
Novelty of Russian cinema
The genre of the twelve-part film "Rook" is completely new to Russian cinema. This is a detective story, but not in the usual sense of the genre, but mystical - because the main character knows how to see ghosts. The film is not only about the work of a modern policeman as such, but also about his usual everyday life, a rather complicated psychological situation in which the character finds himself.
The main decoration of the series "Rook" - actors. And the roles that were chosen for them, perfectly correspond to the embodiment of what was conceived. The series showed rather unusual situations from life. To feel the whole mystical atmosphere, the lead actor Pavel Trubiner, before filming in the film, he said, watched a lot of thrillers about otherworldly phenomena and ghosts. He tried to understand how to play correctly in frames with a character who, in fact, is not. It turned out that it is quite difficult because it turns out that the hero is talking to himself, as it were.
Dasha and the maniac
So, the film "Rook", the actors and roles in which weaved into a surprisingly beautiful, intriguing pattern, was definitely a success with the audience.
Already after the shooting, in one of the interviews, the actress Svetlana Ivanova, who played Dasha, shared with reporters that she had never participated in such extreme films before. Her former heroines were all completely romantic young ladies. They always either loved or suffered, and nothing more. Therefore, there were some difficulties with the shooting in this picture: she was afraid to shoot, she could not force herself to pull the trigger in training. Before participating in the film, Svetlana was absolutely not able to handle weapons, and after all, it was real in the frame. Her heroine carried a Makarov pistol.
Another colorful and unforgettable character was the maniac, played by Ivan Okhlobystin. Everyone was so used to seeing him in the role of an intelligent, talented, but original doctor that his fans were very surprised at how the actor agreed to play such an unpleasant role.
This is how, over the course of twelve episodes, Sergey Grachev acted as a person restoring justice, a conductor of the will of the dead and a mediator. Rook (the actors and roles they performed in the film turned out to be unforgettable) as a series with new directorial discoveries turned out to be a breath of fresh air for film lovers of this genre. In addition, it is very important that this product is domestic.
