On his example, it is especially clearly visible how the used animation method works, which allowed to subtly convey the facial expressions of animal characters. The Motion Capture marker system is capable of capturing the smallest movements of the actor’s face based on CGI technologies and transmitting them to the character.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes: actors
The actors, the roles of the film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" are of particular interest, because some of them had to act as anthropoids. Consider the actors who performed two main roles, the learned Will and his adoptive son, Caesar's chimpanzee.
The role of Will Rodman, a chemical scientist who is the main character of the film among human characters, went to James Franco.
The film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes", whose actors played not only people, but also primates, showed a high level of display of emotions in 3D models. One of the main roles, Caesar's monkey, was played by Andy Serkis. He already had experience in similar work, as he portrayed King Kong in the film by Peter Jackson.

Tom Felton, who played Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, again acted as a villain, playing Dodge Landon, the cruel menagerie guard.
Tyler Labin played a colleague of Will, the scientist Robert Franklin, and David Oyelowo their boss Steve Jacobs.
Primate characters
We continue to talk about the film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" (actors and roles). It is impossible not to mention the actors who helped create memorable images of intelligent primates. In addition to Andy Serkis, who played the leader of the Caesar monkeys, David Hewlett (Hansicker), Richard Rydings (Buck), Jamie Harris (Rodney), Karin Konoval (Maurice), Terry Notary (Rocket), Chela Horsdel (Irena) were noted in the film.
Start
A young chemical scientist, Will Rodman, has been working on a very important project for a long time - a cure for Alzheimer's disease, which is considered incurable. These studies are not only the fruit of a man’s personal ambitions, but also an attempt to invent a tool that can save his own father from dementia.
The newest medicine should in a special way stimulate the work of the subject's brain and is, in fact, a virus. However, the positive dynamics identified during long-term experiments are useless due to the incident.
The fact is that one of the experimental monkeys, which showed the highest results in testing, unexpectedly showed aggression. The female escaped from the hands of scientists and burst into the conference room, where a meeting of investors was held, during which the fate of the entire project was to be decided.
The animal was killed, and aggression was taken as a side effect of the treatment. The project was closed, and the remaining experimental animals were euthanized.
New house
The franchise film “Planet of the Apes” (“Rebellion”), whose actors have shown for the most part the characters of primates to the detriment of people's history, tells about the formation of the hero of the monkeys, Caesar, almost from birth.
Immediately after the incident, it turns out that the behavior of Yasnoglazka, the killed female, had a reason. Scientists missed the fact that the female was pregnant (in chimpanzees, this process can go quite unnoticed), and protected the recently born baby.
Robert Franklin, Will's colleague, was supposed to euthanize the animals. It was he who discovered the newborn monkey in the cell of the Clear Eye. Robert refused to euthanize him and asked Will to pick up the baby for at least temporarily.
The little chimpanzee really liked the father of the protagonist, and Will decided to keep the monkey as a pet, especially since he very quickly noticed Caesar's unusual abilities. It turns out that the intellectual qualities of a newly made pet significantly exceed the mind of its kind and are comparable to human ones.
The chemist concludes that Caesar was affected by a virus received from his mother. This is irrefutable evidence that the medicine works.
Virus
Meanwhile, the scientist’s father is getting worse. Will decides to steal the virus from the laboratory to help the patient. The drug acts almost instantly, but over time, Charles develops immunity to the virus, and it loses its effectiveness.
The scientist understands that he is on the right track, and to improve the effect of the virus, it is necessary to make it more stable and aggressive. But experiments need a laboratory and experimental animals. All this is provided to him by the boss when he finds out that the drug not only treats Alzheimer's disease, but also is able to increase intellectual abilities, and this promises huge profits.
Receiver
Will's father is feeling worse. The disease worsens and progresses. An elderly person is in conflict with a neighbor, and Caesar, trying to protect him, attacks a stranger. As an aggressive animal, the chimpanzee avoids euthanasia, but gets into a special detention center for monkeys. There he is forced to live among relatives and endure the bullying of a cruel overseer.
Gradually, Caesar not only establishes relations with the collective of monkeys and their leader, but also contrasts himself with people. If at first his only goal was to return home, then later, when his "adoptive father" Will manages to get permission to keep Caesar at home, the monkey refuses to return. The primate does not refuse a pet collar for the sake of a cage with relatives, no. Now he dreams not only of personal freedom, but also of the liberation of all primates.
But both Caesar and the head of the local monkey community understand that their relatives are stupid. Then the chimpanzee decides to help his comrades increase their intellectual abilities.
The escape
Caesar gets out of the cell and steals a sample of the virus. But in his hands is a new, more powerful drug, invented in the laboratory. It frees not only the monkeys kept in the receiver, but also the others kept in the zoo. Together they break through the bridge and hide in the reserve.
However, the new virus is different from the previous version. It still has a positive effect on the primitive brain of monkeys, but for humans it is fatal. At the end of the film, the viewer is made clear that an epidemic is nearing. Further events will be discussed in the second film, Planet of the Apes: Revolution, released in 2014.
The film "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." Reviews
Film critics agreed that if the previous attempt to persuade the franchise failed (we are talking about Tim Burton's 2001 film), then this time we are dealing with a truly high-quality product. The film looks great even outside the series, it is quite self-sufficient.
The film “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” (2011 r.) Adheres to the framework of the dystopian genre, although this time the primates were oppressed not by slavery, but by medical experiments. The idea of freedom is the foundation here. Primates are no longer just animals, but personalities for the viewer, their characters are well revealed. The formation of the character of the protagonist can be traced literally from birth.
The film was a success not only from the plot side, the picture and special effects are of good quality.
