Among the film versions of the novels of the Strugatsky brothers, the most famous film is Stalker. However, these authors wrote not only pure science fiction. Another old Soviet detective - "Woman in White" 1981 release. Young artist Walter Hartwright settles in a rich house as a painting teacher. There, he falls in love with a young girl, but soon she marries Percival Glide not by love, but by the will of her already deceased father. It soon turns out that the newly-made husband is hiding something. Walter is trying to figure out his vile plans. The film was shot based on the novel of the same name by Wilkie Collins, rightfully considered the founder of the detective genre.
