Due to the abundance of modern slang expressions, generations lose touch with each other. Older people do not have time to memorize jargon, as new ones appear. And young people prefer fashionable phrases, completely forgetting about the classic definitions from literary speech. Such an outdated term has become "disgusting." There is a whole group of related words with a common Proto-Slavic root. In the period of fragmentation and many Slavic tribes in one territory, one could hear an unusual shame. Being the predecessor of “disgusting,” this noun broke up into identical forms in the languages of Eastern Europe. Most of them boil down to simple “shame.”
