This document is an insurance certificate of a citizen of the Russian Federation. As already mentioned, now all residents of the country should have a similar paper. Without it, one cannot receive a number of state and municipal services.

- when registering maternity capital;
- at the time of receipt of certain documents (for example, medical insurance of compulsory medical insurance)
- upon admission to school;
- for registration in kindergarten;
- during the provision of educational and medical services.
All these situations are encountered in practice quite often. Some parents are told that the child will not be admitted to an educational institution or registered with the clinic until SNILS is issued. Therefore, parents are forced to make an insurance certificate for children.

Only actually studied paper for kids is not so needed. Especially for those who do not rely on the state. Citizens planning to receive paid medical services can do without SNILS. But to order public services and registration of benefits, a document is really necessary.
Why does a child need SNILS in the garden? No one can really answer. No one has the right to demand this document either when applying to school or when enrolling in kindergarten. It is simply illegal. Nevertheless, many attribute such actions to the fact that educational institutions have first-aid posts in which children receive free medical care. And for this, SNILS is needed.
Now some parents refuse to issue an insurance certificate for their children. But the bulk of the population makes it and does not think about why the child has SNILS.

Today, several organizations are involved in issuing insurance certificates. Namely:

- pension funds;
- multifunctional centers.
Some say that in Russia they plan to issue SNILS at birth. More precisely, when a citizen registers a minor in a registry office. But so far, such changes have not entered into legal force.

Why get SNILS per child? The answer to this question will no longer cause any particular difficulties. This paper will be required upon receipt of the compulsory medical insurance policy (recently, an insurance certificate is an obligatory component when applying) and during the execution of certain public services for a child. Subsidies and maternity capital will also not be obtained if there is no SNILS.
The documents required to complete this paper are minimal. Newborns to receive SNILS will need:
- application from one of the parents;
- passport of the applicant parent;
- birth certificate.
For children over 14 years old, an insurance certificate is issued without parents. You will need to present a passport and write a statement of the established form.
After some time (after about 14 days), a person will be able to pick up the finished SNILS in the PFR or MFC. This document does not provide any costs and duties.
