Conor McGregor: training, fighting, life

It is no secret that today the world of mixed martial arts is not only tough and uncompromising fights, but also a huge fighting show, in which the ability to profitably sell the upcoming fight, the ability to have an audience, and show a vivid performance even before entering the octagon plays an important role (colorful and shockingly go from the locker room to the "cage"). In general, a modern fighter is not only a warrior, but also an actor in some way. We will talk about such a bright character named Conor McGregor (his training will be discussed below) in the article.

Birth

The future star of the MMA world was born in the Irish Dublin (or rather in its southern part) on July 14, 1988. Conor McGregor, training for which in childhood was to visit the football section, was a bright fan of the English club from Manchester. At the age of 18, the guy moved to Lucan, where he graduated from an educational institution called Colaiste Cois Life. After school, he trained as a plumber until he plunged into the wrestling training process together with future UFC member Tom Egan. As a result, Conor showed interest in mixed fights.

Professional career

Initially, McGregor began his professional appearances in the octagon in the light weight category, but after spending 12 fights, 10 of which were victorious for him, he went down to featherweight, where he literally two weeks later took the belt of the champion Cage Warriors. But this was not enough for the Irishman, and he again returned to lightweight, in which he also managed to become a champion by defeating Ivan Buchinger.

Transition to UFC

The debut in the most successful American promotion was for Conor to fight with Marcus Brimage. The whole fight McGregor beat his opponent and eventually won by unanimous referee decision, which to this day is the only one in the Irish career. He won all other fights ahead of schedule.

Interim title

The duel between the Brazilian Jose Aldo and Conor was supposed to take place on July 11, 2015. This confrontation was planned for a long time, and the Brazilian champion was considered a favorite. However, he received a rib injury and was forced to retire. As a result, the belt of the interim champion between Conor and Chad Mendes was played, which ended up in the hands of the Irishman. This victory allowed him to organize a fight with Aldo again.

Conor McGregor's last fight

Full champion

On December 12, 2015, Conor McGregor, whose weight on that day was about 65 kilograms, finally met the octagon with Jose Aldo. To the surprise of everyone, the battle lasted only thirteen seconds, and the Brazilian was knocked out with just one precisely calibrated blow to the jaw, which put a fat cross on his five-year-old unbeaten run.

Fighting style

Conor McGregor, whose training ideally combines the study of wrestling, taekwondo and wrestling skills, is characterized as a fierce knockout that can send an opponent to "sleep" with any blow. In addition, the Irishman is not only a strong fighter, but also an excellent showman who knows how to unleash the upcoming fight and heat up the passions around him to the limit. To do this, he does not hesitate to pour literally streams of dirty speeches on his opponents. A vivid example of this is the last battle of Conor McGregor with Nate Diaz, in which the Irishman surpassed himself in the number of obscene expressions. Nevertheless, no one will argue with the fact that there is no more skillful fighter in MMA in terms of promotion of the battle than Notorius (the nickname for the Irish), today.

On September 27, 2016, it was announced that Conor McGregor, training for which has already been authorized for medical reasons, will hold his next fight against the lightweight hegemon Eddie Alvarez on November 12.
