1. "Jaws"

Of course, the most interesting movie about sharks is this imperishable classic. "Jaws" scare their viewers for forty-three years, and so far no such film has been able to surpass their success. This cult movie was directed by Steven Spielberg in 1975, and until Star Wars, Jaws remained the highest grossing movie of all time. The plot tells of the attacks of a huge cannibal shark off the coast of the resort town of Emiti. Despite several victims, the mayor does not want to announce an emergency and close the beach - because the season has just opened, and raising a panic, he will lose a lot of vacationers, and therefore money. The plot is based on a deep thought - in the pursuit of profit, people sometimes forget about the value of human life and the danger that wildlife can carry.

In addition to the original film, there is another second, third and fourth part of “Jaws” - all these films were shot by other directors, and therefore look an order of magnitude worse than the first part.

2. "Deep blue sea"

This is the second most popular after the "Jaws" interesting and scary movie about sharks. It was filmed in 1999 and gained great success with the audience due to the novelty of its idea. If in the "Jaws" terrible events occur due to the fault of the mercantile spirit and greed of the authorities, the "Deep Blue Sea" talks about the vanity and recklessness of scientists. The main character, Ph.D. Susan McAllister, is working on a medicine whose main ingredient is part of the shark brain. Secretly from her colleagues, using genetic engineering, she enlarges the brain of three experimental sharks and as a result receives three monsters endowed with tremendous intelligence. Like Jaws, Deep Blue Sea has a sequel, however, it also does not repeat the success of the original film.

3. "Soul Surfer"

This 2011 picture is different from the two previous films, as sharks are not the main characters in it. This is a biographical tape about surfer Bethany Hamilton, who was attacked by a shark at the age of 13. The girl survived, but lost her left hand. Many in her place and would not come close to the sea after this, but Bethany pulled herself together and soon again stood on the board - to compete on a par with healthy surfers.

4. "Kon-tiki"

Another incredibly interesting movie about sharks, based on real events. The plot is based on the legendary journey from South America to Polynesia on a raft of nine balsa logs called "Kon-tiki." Filmed in 2012, this Norwegian film was nominated for Academy Award and Golden Globe Award as the best picture in a foreign language.

In addition to the main storyline of the search for sharks, several stories are unfolding right in front of the viewer, linking completely different and unusual people to each other. The picture ends completely unexpectedly - Steve Zissu refuses to kill the shark, because he considers it too beautiful for this.

6. "Sandbank"

This incredibly interesting film about a shark and a man is primarily attracted by the fact that, in fact, except for a shark and a man, there are no main characters in it. The main character named Nancy arrives in Mexico. She wants to ride a surf at the place of death of her mother, but instead she is on the verge of death. Fleeing from a shark that has already managed to bite her, the girl is trapped and loses every hope of salvation as soon as she appears. However, the will to live and the courage of Nancy help her survive and return to the same place with her father and sister. "Sandbank" was released in 2016 and is the best modern film of this genre.

The plot tells of a couple in love Susan and Daniel, who decided to dive with scuba diving during a romantic vacation by the ocean.
