In the central part of Africa is the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), the former French colony. Its capital is Kinshasa. The province is located along the south coast of the Congo River. This is the only full-flowing river crossing the equator twice. It is the second longest in Africa after the Nile. The Ebola River flows into the main Congo.
Geographical position
Where is the Ebola River? It flows in the northern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The right tributary of the Ebola is the Dva River. The name "Ebola" is given to the river by the French colonists who seized the lands of Africa in past centuries. From French to the local dialect, the name of the reservoir is translated as "white water".
In the middle course of the Ebola, three kilometers from its left bank, the village of Abumombazi is located. Residents of the tribe living there believe in legends and venerate the local gods. Further down the river are other villages such as Mogwaka, Boter and Tobinga. Many Congo tribes are Christians, but the African mainland is mostly populated by Muslim peoples.

In the waters of the White River, huge predatory tiger fish, Goliaths, live. These are predators. They prey on fish, various animals living in the water, and even crocodiles. Other fish live in the river:

This is due to the fact that in Africa sultry weather lasts almost a whole year, so dangerous viruses and bacteria multiply in warm water. Unfortunately, it is impossible to protect animals from them, which can then come into contact with people. A tsetse fly lives near the water, whose bite is life threatening.

Since the climate is hot, in the village of Abumombazi, they are mainly engaged in agriculture, grow bananas and cassava. To prevent the crop from dying, plants need water that is taken from Ebola. Men are engaged in craft, make crafts from wood.
Also, the population is engaged in animal husbandry: cows, goats and chickens are bred. Without a river, people would not be able to survive in such conditions. Ebola is an important component not only of the life of local tribes, but of the entire ecosystem as a whole.
Legend of the ebola river

This monster floats in all reservoirs, the channels of which are connected with the main river. Some residents say that he has a long neck and his whole body is covered with scales, while others, on the contrary, say that the animal is small and has sharp teeth.
Perhaps there are a considerable number of unexplored fish and mammals in African rivers. Scientists believe that unknown species should be caught for study. But the inhabitants of the tribes are afraid to do this, believing that they may die or bring the wrath of the gods.
Diamond mining
The Ebola River in Africa is located in such a way that there are oil and gas fields nearby. Diamonds are often found in the pond itself. Residents of the village of Abumombazi are engaged in the extraction of minerals. To do this, they use ordinary tools: flushing trays and a shovel. They dig the soil, put it in the bowl for washing, and with the help of water from the river they manage to sort the brilliant stones. The keen eye of the aborigines accurately determines whether it is a diamond or not. Ebola - a river in the waters of which diamonds are often found in bulk.
Local residents earn little money from their extraction. Therefore, recently they began to rebel, refuse to work. People demand to improve working conditions and raise their salaries. But no reforms were made, because it is beneficial to have cheap labor, which gives precious stones for nothing.
Some residents say that the Ebola virus was created to scare the locals and crush the rebellion. They noticed that the virus is not transmitted through the air, only those who have received the vaccine given by the Red Cross get sick. To date, residents of the Republic of the Congo are driving the American Red Cross out of their territory and are refusing to vaccinate supposedly from a deadly disease.
They believe that the Americans are trying to capture the Ebola River at all costs, if only its diamonds went to them.
River ecology
The discharge of waste and wastewater is one of the causes of river pollution in the Republic of Congo. Despite the fact that the country produces diamonds, oil and other minerals, it still remains poor and cannot afford treatment facilities. Because of this situation, the Ebola (river in the Congo) was in a deplorable state. Mud and heat are ideal conditions for the propagation of dangerous infections such as dysentery, typhoid and cholera. And the hydroelectric power stations located on the Congo River only aggravated the situation. On many rivers the flow stopped, congestion appeared.

Due to the poor ecology and dangerous tiger fish, swimming in Ebola is prohibited for tourists. But the locals, not paying attention to the prohibitions, still use water, especially the guys who bathe in any place without fear for life. For tourists, beaches are open directly on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, where it is safe and clean.
