Reviews for the movie "From the Car" can be found very different. Some were thrilled with this exciting sci-fi thriller, others were disappointed. In this article we will talk about the plot, actors, director of this project.
Filming
There were many positive reviews about the movie "Out of the Car." This turned out to be especially important for the director Alex Garland, who made his debut with this project in world cinema.
Interestingly, almost all the scenes were filmed at the Norwegian Juvet Landscape Hotel. The creators note that they had to work in a fairly short time.
The soundtrack for the film was specially written by Ben Salisbury and Jeff Barrow, with whom the director of the tape used to work on the fiction thriller Pete Travis "Judge Dredd" as a producer.
Plot
The plot of the movie "From the Car" begins with the fact that the programmer Caleb gets the opportunity to go for a few days to a remote house located in the mountains. He belongs to the head of the company in which the man works. On the spot, Caleb finds out that in reality he will take part in an experiment with the world's first artificial intelligence.
In fact, the entire study is based on the Turing test. This is the development of the famous English logic and mathematician Alan Turing, which is based on the communication of a person with a computer and another person. Based on answers to certain questions, he must determine with whom he is actually talking.
At the same time, the test was planned so that Caleb initially knew that in front of him was a robot with the code name Ava. The goal that the machine pursues is to prove to him that she is able not only to receive incoming information, but also to process it, to understand what it really means, to pass it through herself and to feel it.
In the course of this experiment, not only the robot becomes the subject, but also the programmer himself, who interacts with him.
During the test, Caleb falls in love with Ava. This is largely due to the fact that the head of the company Nathan initially sought to create a robot in accordance with Caleb's personal preferences. As a result, Ava manages to deceive the main character. She gets access to the laboratory, negotiates with another female robot to kill her creator. After that, Ava leaves the country house by helicopter, leaving Caleb alone, locked in that very laboratory.
Awards and nominations
Criticism about the movie "From the Car" in 2015 turned out to be mostly positive. Some began their reviews with a direct reference to Stephen Hawking, who, long before the release of this work on screens, warned that robots would defeat people. But he didn’t know, they noted that their main weapon in this victory would be sex.
The picture as a result received a large number of nominations for various awards. In particular, she claimed two Oscars at once.
