In the 1990s, the cinema captured the fashion for youth horror films, and in many ways the second series of the popular horror movie “Scream 2” became its legislator. The actors who played the leading roles in the film, soon became one of the most recognizable, because subsequently a lot of parodies were made on their heroes. So, why is this project of Wes Craven remarkable?
Plot
About two years have passed since the bloody drama in Woodsboro, however, Sydney Prescott (played by Neve Campbell) has no opportunity to forget about the tragedy that befell herself, as well as her friends and family. The girl became a student in another city, however, the past does not let her go there either - her friend and witness of past events Randy studies at the same college. Meanwhile, Gail Weathers published a bestseller about the grim history of a small town, and filmmakers decided to film the work.
So, the horror film "Knife stab" is released, and this again turns into a nightmare for Sydney, her fellow students and the new lover. At the premiere of the sensational hit, two lovers die, and now all attention is again focused on Prescott. Gail, as well as Officer Dewey, is immediately declared in the town. The company is eager to figure out a killer who has already begun methodically exterminating people in the district, not forgetting to call the victims first, as was the case in the first part of the tape.
Role performers
It is worth mentioning separately the acting team of the movie "Scream 2". The actors who starred in the horror movie are quite popular today, and many of them managed to make a good career in big movies. This primarily refers to Timothy Olyphant and Jerry O'Connell. By the way, the latter portrayed the beloved heroine of Neve Campbell, the young physician Derek. Also in the horror was a hero who was only mentioned in the first part - narcissistic Cotton, played by Liv Schreiber.
Of course, Neve Campbell remained the main star of the movie "Scream 2". Courtney Cox and David Arquette, however, as in the first series, also played an important role in the plot.
Many viewers noted the convincing game of Jada Pinkett Smith and Omar Epps - they were the first to encounter a maniac in the project "Scream 2". Jamie Kennedy, remembered by the public for the original part, repeated his image quite convincingly, having received much more screen time in the sequel.
Secrecy
The creators of the project wanted to preserve the intrigue, so during the filming the script was entrusted to reading only to the performers of key roles and the direct management of the studio. At the same time, the name of the killer remained secret, because the last pages of the script were missing. Nevertheless, even the existing text somehow got on the Internet, so Kevin Williamson rewrote a number of scenes already during the filming process.
The final ten pages of the script, in which the maniac had a name, were printed on special gray paper with protection against photocopying. The actors had to sign a special agreement on non-disclosure of information about the plot and its ending. The first scenario contained the names of three different killers. Subsequently, Wilmson admitted that he came up with many details of the second part of the horror film during the work on the first.
Interesting cameo
Particularly attentive viewers noticed several unusual cameos in the movie "Scream 2". Actors portraying the audience in the cinema, at first glance, do not require special attention, but if you look closely, among them you can see Rose McGowan, who played Tatum Riley, a friend of Sidney, in the previous series.
The journalist interviewing Cotton is the screenwriter Kevin Williamson, already mentioned. In turn, director Wes Craven portrayed a doctor in the background at the clinic.

Filming
Work on the filming was conducted from mid-June to the end of August 1997 - production began a month and a half after the premiere of the first episode of the horror.
The bulk of the voices voiced in the project were recorded at the post-production stage. Nevertheless, the voice of Roger Jackson, which was voiced by the maniac, will surely be remembered for a long time by the participants of the film “Scream 2” - the actors received calls from him directly during the filming of the necessary scenes. Wes Craven intended to create a special tension at such moments. Jackson, as a rule, was in a place from which he remained invisible to the "potential victim".
Almost two decades have passed since the release of Scream 2. During this time, many exciting youth films were shot, but this story is still not forgotten by film fans and has become a classic of the genre.
