Cinema does not stand still, and the Air Force is again trying to hook the viewer with a new series about the difficult and evil everyday life of people at the beginning of the 20th century. Sharpened Caps is not just a series about a certain period in the difficult history of the English town of Birmingham.
Here, an attempt is clearly outlined to maximally realistic depict the picture of human souls, forced to either sink under the waves of compromises, or try to protect the remnants of the principles of the post-war era. The world of Birmingham, shown in the series Sharpened Caps, is simultaneously repelled by its hopelessness and attracted by a rich palette of human experiences. The director’s obvious desire to convey the gloom of that period is felt. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the series should be considered interesting.
A world in which it’s hard to smile
The fact is that many of us are accustomed to a clear, comfortable world in which we have fun, reach career heights, drink beer with friends in a fashion club. We are unfamiliar with the hopelessness of that time, which is shown in the series Sharpened Caps, we are used to security. But the director takes our eyes away from the usual everyday life and plunges into the gloomy atmosphere of a society that took in young people who were broken by the war and failed to offer them a life worthy of heroes. Confronted by an experienced and seasoned Inspector Campbell, who is not as simple as it might seem at first glance. It’s interesting to follow the events, they carry away, it’s very curious to watch the confrontation between two different, but at the same time equally

We can say that Sharpened Caps is a series in which the eternal struggle of principles and desires is revealed.
Does not the young Thomas have the right, who, after the devastation, met the grayness and swarms of rats rustling in dirty alleys, to take from life what he has the right to. Are the sharp visors of caps a too cruel way to carve your place in the sun? After all, if he does not take it, someone else will take it instead. You can recall the famous expression: "I'm not like that - life is like that." But the “Sharpened Caps" tell us that if you decide to remain human, not a single devastation will not make you a monster, and by cutting out others with sharp visors, you can cut out everything valuable and true from your soul.
