DPRK flag and its history

North Korea is a small state in East Asia with the capital Pyongyang. It borders with South Korea, China and the Russian Federation. It is washed by the Yellow and Japanese Seas.

State symbols were adopted in 1948. The DPRK flag has the shape of a rectangle, and the aspect ratio is 2: 1. The rectangle is horizontally divided into 5 unequal stripes. The edges of the disk are in contact with the edges of the star. The red canvas is divided by subtle stripes of white color, followed by the upper and lower blue stripes.
