Reviews of the Banshee series are of interest to all potential viewers of this serial film who are considering starting to watch it. This is a popular American drama series that aired on Cinemax from 2013 to 2016. During this time, viewers saw four seasons, which consisted of 38 episodes.
Summary
In the reviews of the Banshee series, many viewers who have already managed to get acquainted with this project note that this is a fascinating and exciting film.
At the center of the story is the thief Lucas Hood, who went out of prison after serving fifteen years for stealing diamonds from his boss. He was a bandit from Ukraine, Rabbit. At the same time, the thief is in love with his daughter. By chance, he manages to appropriate the identity of the murdered sheriff. In this position, he begins to monitor order throughout the Banshee County of Pennsylvania. The new sheriff was invited by the young mayor of the city, but he does not manage to get to the place.
It turns out that his beloved Carrie lives in Banshee, who decided to break with the criminal past after a failed robbery. By the time they meet again, she is married to Gordon Hopewell, they are raising 15-year-old daughter Deva and seven-year-old son Max. She is one of the few in the city who knows the real truth about the sheriff, while still experiencing romantic feelings for the main character.
Events also unfold around the criminal authority of the town of Banshee, whose name is Kai Proctor. He alone controls almost all of the local big business and crime. The main character, Lucas and Carrie, is helped by a professional hacker, Job, who also turns out to be a transvestite. He helps them to unravel the most complex cases, to confront the injustice that is happening around.
Soon, a special FBI agent Veronica Dawson arrives in the city. She is a reckless and desperate woman who comes to investigate a series of brutal murders that were allegedly committed by a serial maniac.
At the same time, the young Banshee mayor Dan Kendell speaks with the main character, who invited a new sheriff to effectively confront Kai Proctor. But he does not suspect at all that the yesterday’s prisoner arrived in the city instead of the sheriff.
Background
The creators of this series became one of the few who really showed concern and the fans of their project, deciding to help them figure out all the details: to tell in detail what really connects the heroes of this bloody crime drama with each other, as Lucas Hood himself came to such a life.
Moreover, they decided to shoot not just a short film that combines all the plot lines, but a whole short series "Banshee: Background".
Since 2013, one short season has been released for each of the seasons of the main project. Fans noted with regret that in Russia, unfortunately, almost no one paid attention to him. Even the companies and television channels that own the rights to display Banshee himself did not purchase and translate this short film, so I had to watch it in an amateur translation.
The Benefits of Background
The first season tells in detail about the main events that occurred from the moment of the arrest of the protagonist until the first frames of the main plot. This is a real background, which allows you to understand everything in detail. It demonstrates everything that remains behind the scenes, complementing the original as organically as possible.
From the second season, viewers can learn about the life of Lucas before his arrest, it also touches on the storylines of several important minor characters.
In the third season, the meetings and acquaintances of many characters with each other were described in detail, in addition, the creators added action, which was missing in the first two seasons of the short series. In reviews of "Banshee: Background", viewers noted that as an independent product, it makes absolutely no sense, so you should only perceive it together with the main series.

Spectator Impressions
Those who have already watched this picture are called Banshees among the best series. True, they note that the second season is largely parasitic on the first, which actually broke off at a glance.
But here many characters were fully able to reveal themselves, for example, the bodyguard and the right hand of Proctor Clay Burton. Barton in reviews, reviews of the series "Banshee" is mainly characterized as a cold-blooded and faithful assistant to the main villain. Apart is his battle scene with Nol in the third season, which, according to many viewers, deserves special attention.
Negative
At the same time, we must admit that there are quite a lot of negative reviews from the audience about the Banshee series. Some believe that there is clearly not enough well-thought out plot. With each series, there are more and more questions to the actions and motives of the heroes, which often are not completely explained.
Those who watched all the seasons of the Banshee series emphasize that this becomes clear only towards the end, and it’s also advisable to watch short explanations for each season. Without them, indeed, many things remain a secret behind seven seals.
In the reviews of the Banshee series, some viewers and critics openly call it another not-so-successful piece for naive teens.
