Why does the baby's head sweat?

One of the reasons causing parents to worry about the child is his excessive sweating. It must be said right away that there is no cause for concern at all. The fact that a child's head is sweating is a normal physiological process. From the fourth week of life, the sweat glands begin to function in the child . But since they are not yet fully developed, the baby's body does not quite adequately respond to external temperature stimuli. For example, in the cold, his vessels narrow, he begins to freeze and immediately sweat. Sweat glands reach their perfection only by the age of five to six years.

If the child sweats his head too often and intensively, this may indicate a lack of important vitamin D in the body, a cold, problems with the thyroid gland, heart failure, as well as a reaction to some medications. Excessive sweating can cause a sharp change in the mood of the baby. To dispel all your worries, you just need to see a doctor. It is possible that he will name the true cause of increased sweating, and all experiences may be in vain.

You need to think about the temperature in the room. A possible reason that the child's head is sweating may be excessive stuffiness in the apartment. So, it needs to be aired more often. It can also affect profuse sweating and high humidity.

Not all parents pay attention to such simple trifles.

One of the mistakes they make in relation to their baby is its excessive wrapping for a walk. Many are guided by the proverb: "steam does not break bones." In this case, they are wrong. You need to dress the child a little warmer than an adult will dress. And if the baby's head is sweating, then this is a sign that he is wearing extra clothes.

You should also think about how the baby is dressed during sleep. Some parents wrap it in advance so that it does not open at night, and even use a duvet. On top of that, the room may not be ventilated. Of course, at the same time, the head sweats during sleep in a child for several reasons. Firstly, under a warm duvet, the baby will be very hot, and he will quickly become wet. Secondly, such a blanket can cause an allergy in a child, and this will also lead to increased sweating.

And finally, the most serious problem that many babies face is rickets. If parents timely notice any changes in the behavior and general condition of their child, then coping with such an ailment will be much easier. If rickets is still only in the initial stage, that is, at the first level, then the signs that indicate its presence are as follows: the baby has a decreased or completely lost appetite; sweating of legs, palms sharply increases, the head sweats; the child becomes moody and easily excitable; his sleep is disturbing, both at night and during the day; and one of the main signs of rickets is baldness of the neck. If all these signs are found, you should immediately consult a doctor. If for some reason the parents do not pay due attention to them, then the next stage of this disease can occur, and it is more serious than the previous one, since with it bone deformation begins. The treatment will take on a more complex character. Therefore, the sooner the disease is detected, the less trouble it will bring.

First you need to take urine and blood for analysis. In the presence of rickets, a blood test will show a reduced phosphorus content, while calcium may be normal or slightly elevated. But when analyzing urine, the situation will be the opposite - phosphorus will increase here.

To prevent the development of rickets, it is necessary to take vitamins D2 or D3 for prevention, but before that you need to consult a doctor who will give the child individual recommendations regarding the intake of these vitamins.
