In the USSR, motorsport was not taken seriously, so there were no established traditions and training schools. For the country, this sport is new, so all the riders who perform in various series are well known. One of the worthy representatives is Mikhail Aleshin.

The future driver was born in Moscow on May 22, 1987. He began his career according to the classical scenario - in karting, in 1996. Over the years of performances in this series, he became the three-time champion of Russia and once won the champion title of Scandinavia.
Seven years later, Mikhail Aleshin enters the international level, trying himself in different series on cars with open wheels. In 2007, he won the stage at Monza in the Renault World Series. The victory was not only a major achievement for the rider, but also for the country, since Mikhail was the first Russian who was able to achieve such a result. In the same year, speaking in the GP2 series, he became the first representative of Russia who managed to earn points in this series.
The acquaintance with the Formula -1 car at Mikhail Aleshin took place in 2008 during the preparations for participation in the Moscow City Racing show.
Michael spent the 2009 season in Formula 2. As a result, he took a high third place. This result gave him the right to obtain a super license of Formula 1 and become, according to already established tradition, the first Russian race car driver to achieve such a right.
The next year in the World Series Renault 3.5 went very well, and the pilot won the championship in this series of ring races, the only one of his compatriots.
Indycar
Since 2014, Mikhail Aleshin is the racer of the most famous American racing series. The end of the first season for the athlete was unsuccessful, he had a very serious accident. Immediately he was hospitalized, and the hospital was diagnosed with multiple injuries. They did not threaten life, but not the easiest recovery period was required. Doctors insisted on a complete rejection of any physical activity within six months, but Mikhail Aleshin started training after three months. At the same time, he did not observe psychological problems, which is often characteristic of riders after serious accidents.
Despite the fact that for a long period Mikhail was a member of the Red Bull youth program and sometimes took part in test races in Formula 1, he does not intend to change the American circuit races to the royal ones. According to him, in IndyCar there are more races, extreme and adrenaline, and in Formula 1 there is more pathos. At the same time, he is ready to think about the transition, if a serious offer comes from one of the top teams.
In addition to racing
In addition to sports, there is a personal life with the rider Mikhail Aleshin. Spending most of the year in the USA, he considers Russia to be his home, so he did not begin to purchase housing in America. An interesting fact is that he does not have a personal car, because due to the compact size of his city of residence - Indianapolis (Indiana), he simply does not need it. Among hobbies are music. In Russia, he was a member of a musical group. Due to lack of time, he plays very rarely, only when he flies to his homeland on a short vacation. Listens to jazz, funk, soul.
After the accident, his gastronomic tastes changed - he fell in love with green olives and lost his passion for sweets.
After several seasons spent at IndyCar, Mikhail continues to gain experience and show better results. Since not all the peaks are still conquered, there is something to strive for.
