Eduard Malofeev is a famous Soviet and Russian football player, and later a coach. For many years he played for Minsk Dynamo. Has the nickname of a computer (initials). This article will present a brief biography of the athlete.
Childhood
Eduard Malofeev was born in Krasnoyarsk in 1942. However, the birthplace of the hero of this article is Kolomna near Moscow. The Malofeev family was evacuated to Siberia during the Second World War. After the surrender of Germany, they returned. But before leaving, Edward was baptized in Krasnoyarsk, although at that time this was not approved because of the atheistic ideas of the Communists.
The boy’s father worked as a locksmith, and in his free time he played football. Malofeev Sr. did it quite well. He was even invited to the army club TsDKA. But he refused a professional career. The fate of his son Edward was predetermined.
Getting to know football
At the “wild” stadium, which was located next to the house of the future athlete, they actively played volleyball, basketball and card games. It was to the latter that Edward Malofeev became addicted. Football interested the boy only after his mother caught him for gambling and severely punished. By the way, it was she who patched her son’s sportswear when Eduard played as part of the Smena children's team. Even then, the boy stood out for his outstanding striking qualities. His father helped him improve the game, teaching dribbling and various feints.
New level
“Vanguard” is the name of the team with which Eduard Malofeev began his sports career. Football has become his profession. An excellent game of the hero of this article allowed Avangard to enter Class B of the national championship.
Soon the young talent was noticed by metropolitan breeders. The greatest interest in the striker from Kolomna showed Moscow “Spartak”. The doubler is the position that Edward Malofeev got into the team. Football, family and faith in God were then the main priorities in the athlete's life. Already in the first match he scored a hat trick. Edward significantly increased his own earnings and made himself known throughout the country. He began to help finances his parents. And his religiosity was of little concern to his colleagues and the club management. The main thing is that the scorer regularly scored.
Career takeoff
Neither an attack of appendicitis nor an absurd injury received during training did not prevent the young man from demonstrating a high level of play in Spartak understudies (the field was not well-groomed and the athlete snapped his wrist). In just one season, Eduard Malofeev scored more than 20 goals in this team, managed to light up in the first team, became the champion of the USSR, got into the newspapers, received the title of “master of sports” and an invitation to the country's youth team. But he still failed to unleash his potential to the end. In 1962, Eduard was invited to the Dynamo Minsk. The Spartak coach did not want to let go of the striker, but Malofeev made a firm decision to leave, as he really wanted to be in the first team, and not in the double.
Idol of Belarus
In "Dynamo" played fellow countryman Eduard Mikhail Mustygin. The hero of this article has been following his career since childhood. Soon Mustygin was injured, and Eduard Malofeev took the place of a fellow countryman. At the start of season 63 he made a successful tandem with Vladimir Shimanovich. Malofeev’s game was so successful that the “blue and white” hit the semifinals of the USSR championship. And Edward himself was invited to play for the national team.
The reason for the success of Dynamo was the progressive creative concepts of their mentor Alexander Sevidov. He used the 4-4-2 scheme, which will gain its popularity only in the seventies. Sevidov also developed speed-power endurance in his players. Now Malofeev believes that it was precisely those trainings that substantially “planted” his heart.
But in 1963, Edward did not think about it. According to the results of the championship, Dynamo received bronze medals, and Malofeev received a permanent place in the national team. Also, the footballer took second place in the championship scorers table (21 goals). It is noteworthy that Edward spent his first game for Dynamo against Moscow Spartak, scoring a penalty. After such a breakthrough, invitations from Donetsk, Tbilisi, Kiev and Moscow began to come to the young man. But the athlete throughout his career remained faithful to Dynamo Minsk, becoming a real idol of Belarus.
Team game
Football player Eduard Malofeev spent his first match in its composition against the Japanese team. The coach replaced them with the injured Glory Metreveli. The athlete played brilliantly with a hat trick. Malofeev's official debut took place on October 22, 1963. In that match, the hosts took the Hungarians in Moscow. The meeting ended with a score of 1: 1.
Starting next year, the Beskov national team coach regularly called Edward, but very rarely let him out on the field. Perhaps, fortunately, since the defeat in the final of the European Cup-64 in the country was perceived very negatively. Of course, there was also a political motive: the wards of Beskov lost to Spain, which was then headed by General Franco.
The national team coaches were kicked out in disgrace, and Nikolay Morozov came to replace him . He trusted Malofeev. The new mentor managed to achieve the best result in the history of Soviet football - 4th place at the World Cup-66. The national team was preparing for this championship in Switzerland. Wards Morozov greatly worried. The calmest was Edward. Unlike his teammates, he did not suffer from insomnia and became involved in modern music, becoming a fan of Ray Koniffay, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles.
Such emancipation helped Malofeev to make a double into the gates of the Chinese team. Then Edward scored in a sad match for bronze. That game was one for several reasons. Firstly, the meticulous Malofeev was not sure of the authorship of his goal. Secondly, thanks to Eusebio, the Portuguese were stronger. Thirdly, no one was pleased with fourth place.
The next coach was Mikhail Yakushin. He, like previous coaches, did not forget about Dynamo. And Malofeev thanked him in a match against the Greeks at the European Championship-68. Edward's only goal not only ensured victory for his team, but also humiliated the "black colonels" who led Hellas. The footballer was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports.
Retirement
After that, Malofeev Eduard stopped playing for the national team. Her new coach Gabriel Kachalin did not pay attention to the 28-year-old striker, who became the top scorer in the 71 championship. At the World Cup 72, the heroes of this article were not taken. To leave big football is what decision Eduard Malofeev made. The athlete's family fully supported him. This was partly due to a serious injury to the footballer - a meniscus rupture. Over time, she was able to cure it, but the expansion of the veins still worries the computer.
Coaching
Malofeev Eduard did not take advantage of his position and hold a position in Minsk Dynamo. The athlete decided to start from the bottom - children's football. Initially, Eduard Vasilievich began to apply non-trivial approaches in training and focused on psychological preparation. Thanks to this, his team took the primacy of the city. For advanced training, Malofeev traveled to Leningrad, where he listened to a series of lectures. After that, he headed the double of Minsk Dynamo.
At the beginning of 1975, the Higher School of Trainers was opened in Moscow, and Edward entered it without hesitation. He became the first graduate, deservedly receiving "excellent" in all subjects. After returning to Minsk, Malofeev headed the Dynamo team. The innovative methods of Eduard Vasilievich did not cause enthusiasm among the athletes. The trainer made a lot of ill-wishers, who gave his temperament as imbalance, intransigence as unbalanced, and expansiveness as uncontrollability. But Malofeev’s methods proved their efficiency: in 1982 Dynamo became the champion of the USSR. And in 1986, Eduard Vasilievich helped the team win a ticket to Mexico. But Moscow rejected the coach. As a result of the behind-the-scenes struggle, the Union Football Federation dismissed Malofeev. And later she removed it from Minsk Dynamo.
Only forward!
But, despite the machinations of ill-wishers, Eduard Malofeev, whose biography was presented above, did not despair and continued to achieve success as a coach. In Makhachkala, he helped “Anji” get a ticket to the first league, in “Tyumen” he brought “Din-Gaz” to the top division, in “Kislovodsk” he created “Amaral”, and in Pskov he organized a professional team (subsequently 95% of its players played for the best clubs in the country) .
Finally, the Belarusian team almost made it to the 2002 World Cup final. The reason for this failure was that several team leaders simply did not trust Malofeev and denied his principle of unity of command. And he sounds like this: "If the soldiers during the battle will seek explanation, this will lead to a guaranteed defeat." Alas, intrigues constantly circled around Edward. But his enthusiasm did not run out. In his interviews, Malofeev regularly declares his desire to work as a coach until the age of 90.
