How important is proper product quality assurance?

One of the most important competitive factors of each manufacturer today is the quality of its products. Moreover, it is worth noting immediately that in the conditions of market relations the role of non-price competition has recently increased incredibly, because due to the large number of unscrupulous manufacturers, consumers are now not interested in price, but in ensuring the quality of goods. Consider this concept in more detail.

Quality assurance was required and carried out at almost any time. Today, many are arguing about what exactly the word “quality” means, however, for ordinary people it has a single terminology. The ISO international organization has already managed to standardize such a concept as a set of various characteristics of a particular object that relate directly to its ability to fully or partially satisfy already established needs.

Consider some of the elements that are currently used to assess the quality of goods. Under the characteristics refers to some relationship of various independent and dependent variables, which are displayed in the form of a certain graph, formula or plain text. Characteristics can be both quantitative and qualitative. The concept of an object, for example, implies a process or activity, organization, service, individual, product, or any combination thereof. That is, in other words, an object in this case is called everything that can be considered in some way or described.

Products are the end result of processes or activities. A service is a definite result of the interaction between a supplier and a consumer, as well as the supplier’s internal activities to satisfy all possible consumer needs.

The concept of need is also the starting point in determining quality . Here, it was originally intended to satisfy the various needs of each consumer, which in this case play a huge role in the formation of quality. Consumers have recently become much more picky, and most importantly, picky, so their quality requirements are growing almost every new day. The main desire of each person is to receive the highest quality products or services that will fully meet all his needs.

In the 70s of the last century, many experts, together with scientists, determined that quality cannot be fully guaranteed only by controlling exclusively finished products. It must be provided at every separate stage in production, as well as in the process of market research, in the selection of suppliers of raw materials and in many other processes.

How is quality assurance implemented? Modern tendencies

As a result of such studies and the growth of consumer criticism, ensuring the quality of products began to require the creation of various integrated approaches that could form a closed process taking into account absolutely all of the above stages and a number of others. That is why, recently, some systems have been created that constantly operate on various quality assurance activities. Similar systems have recently changed and improved several times.

In the end, many manufacturers came to the conclusion that it is advisable not only to regulate technical processes, but also everything that can be associated with management, organization of the distribution of functions of rights, duties and tasks. The main goal of the standards is to build such a quality system that will ensure the manufacture of products that can meet almost any consumer requirements.
