The full-length debut project of director Anton Bormatov “Alien” (actors: N. Romanicheva, K. Polukhin, A. Otradnov, E. Mundum, A. Golubkov, E. Tkachuk) is an arthouse parable about the true nature of evil.
Plot
The story unfolds during the dashing 90s. A team of "brothers" in the amount of 4 people goes to the Czech capital, Prague, in order to deliver the sister of the recently arrested criminal authority Babai. Angela, she is Alien, for the accomplices of the arrested should become the guarantor of his silence. And all would be fine, but the girl turns out to be something like the embodiment of a dark goddess, whose nature is completely devoid of any principles, but is filled with hellish cynicism.
Creators
About the events taking place in the fatherland and neighboring countries, three adequate films were shot: “The Brigade”, which approached the level of genius “Boomer” and the cult “Brother”. Fans of the crime drama genre expected “Alien” (including actors) to become the fourth. Critics predicted the resemblance of the picture with “Natural Born Killers” or “Nikita”, but the authors created something else. The film “Alien”, the actors and roles of which were selected by the well-known Konstantin Ernst, was shot based on the work of a certain Vladimir “Adolfich” Nesterenko, who, according to rumors, knew what he was writing about firsthand. The rights to the adaptation of his opus were acquired by Konstantin Ernst and Igor Tolstunov (producers who always choose catchy stories and know how to correctly interpret them). It is no coincidence that the creators made bets on dark horses, preparing for the filming of the drama “Alien” (2010) - the actors are all little known, from provincial theater troupes, the director is a debutant, formerly a serialist.
Beyond confidence
The picture is absolutely adequate to the scenario. The atmosphere of the 90s was recreated with amazing rabid perfectionism. All the characters in the picture are real, living, behaving as they should be. Absolutely every moment convinces the person who is looking at the reality of what is happening: the actors are unknown, nobody pulls the blanket over themselves, everyone is extremely accurate - the stage director, cameraman, and leading actors. The “Alien” drama is a film (2010), whose actors, especially Kirill Polukhin (Malysh) and Natalya Romanycheva (Alien), create an extraordinary degree of reliability of what is happening.
Powerful Benefit
Alien herself (during the filming, the actors called the actress in one way or another) - an intelligent theater actress Natalya Romanicheva - one of the film’s greatest successes. Even the very first frame with its direct participation gives what is happening a certain meaning. Prior to this project, almost none of the domestic filmmakers managed to show the heroine on whom the white light would converge. It was her debut role on the big screen, and the actress in the title role is impeccable. The authors made the right decision and took advantage of the success of the casting, highlighting the relationship of Alien and Shustroy in the second part. The accents placed by the creator and embodied by the actors on the screen resemble the story of Prosper Merimee “Carmen”. It turns out that the heroine Romanicheva is one of the movie incarnations of a classic gypsy.

Yevgeny Tkachuk made his debut in a big movie in 2007 and before the filming began, “Alien” managed to try on the incarnation of the director and screenwriter, together with his friend Daniil Vorobyov, to create the short film “Prayer”. The experiment was successful: the three-minute event gathered more than 12 awards at various, including international film festivals. Participation in the project of Anton Bormatov became a real springboard for Tkachuk. After “Alien”, he received an offer to play the main role (Bears of the Jap) in the TV series of Sergey Ginzburg “Life and Adventures of the Bear of Jap”. This role brought Tkachuk wildly popular.
On the right to choose, evil and revenge
“Alien” is a film (2010), whose actors are not so much playing as they are reading a radio play. Moreover, among the heroes there is not a single, even episodic or secondary character, which would cause the sympathy and sympathy of the audience. Andryukha (Kid) performed by Kirill Polukhin, Girya - actor Anatoly Otradnov, Zhenya (Shustry) - Evgeny Tkachuk - these are characters that cause almost fierce hatred in the beholder. This is facilitated by the texture of little-known actors - one has a very low forehead, the second has a disproportionately long nose, the third has a too simple-minded physiognomy.
Possibly, negative emotions are fueled by frequent demonstrations of naked bodies in profile and from the rear and nauseous shots of beatings and brutal torture. It aggravates the perception and musical accompaniment of the picture, which is based on the rotation of various retro-radio stations. They do not create the effect of complete immersion in the atmosphere of the era. The drama by Anton Bormatov “Alien” (the actors confirm this fact) is not an adventurous gangster story with chases and shootings, this is an author’s reflection on the right to choose, evil and revenge.
