Vladimir Yurzinov was born in Moscow near the Dynamo Stadium on February 20, 1940. The area where the future legend of hockey lived was sports. Next to him lived family members of Nikolai Khlystov. And at the school, Alexander Almetov studied with Vladimir. All athletes came to the Pishchevik stadium and learned the basics of ice hockey, which at that time in our country was not as popular as it is now. At an early age, namely at the age of 17, a young boy named Vladimir began his professional career for Dynamo. His good friend Viktor Tikhonov was already playing there . For high successes, the then coach Arkady Chernyshov handed Yurzinov a captain's armband. Yurzinov’s performances continued at Dynamo until 1972. After that, he decided to end his professional career.

The beginning of a coaching career
After leaving Dynamo, Vladimir Yurzinov decided to leave for Finland. There he was invited by Boris Kulagin. He needed a playing assistant coach at the Koo Ve Club. Vladimir Vladimirovich Yurzinov was ideally suited for this role. In addition to the club, this pair of coaches debuted in the national team. But after two unsuccessful world championships, Kulagin was replaced by Tikhonov. He left Yurzinov as his assistant. In parallel with the team, Yurzinov was appointed head coach of Dynamo. He had to train players with whom he himself recently went out on the ice. The management did not merit the activities of Vladimir Vladimirovich and decided to dismiss him. Then Yurzinov went to Riga. They also wanted to kick him out of the team, but a good friend Tikhonov defended his assistant. In Riga, the legend of domestic hockey managed to implement the plan, and the team took second place, losing in the final of CSKA. Prior to this, the team did not achieve such high results. After a successful season, Yurzinov was again returned to the post of head coach of the Dynamo club.
