Words from military terminology tightly enter into everyday life. Previously, it was impossible to imagine that in a news release from a TV screen, terms would sound that without a dictionary and additional explanations from the side would become clear even to a child. The words “extension” and “unloading”, “cargo 300” and “two hundredths” no longer need to be interpreted from the outside.
Reports of military events firmly enter the house from the media and bring terrible information about the dead and wounded.
Why is the cargo 300? History of the term
When did you first use expressions that are understandable to any person today? Where did the name "cargo 300" come from, what is hidden behind these numbers? The first references to the “two hundredth” and “three hundredth” dates back to the time of the war in Afghanistan, and these designations were actively used by special services and the military in operational negotiations. They were also used by pilots to notify controllers on the ground about the number of wounded and killed carried on board.
Cargo 300 is a military term that means transporting a fighter wounded in a hot spot. For a brief description in the negotiations used code terms that were initially difficult to decipher the enemy when intercepting a conversation.
When the accompanying documentation was drawn up for transporting a wounded warrior from the combat zone, a form of the corresponding form with number 300 was filled out.
Cargo 300: what does it mean today?
The wars in Afghanistan, Chechnya, and eastern Ukraine forced ordinary people to understand the coded designations of special services and eliminated the need to decipher terms that were previously available only to a narrow circle of people. No one asks the question: “Cargo 300 - what is it?” After hearing these words in a news broadcast on television and radio.
This phrase is used by the military now to briefly indicate the number of wounded servicemen for immediate removal from the combat zone.
Another justification for this name is a method of delivering a seriously wounded soldier who is transported on a stretcher, accompanied by two medical staff with life support equipment. Conditionally, such a weight is considered equal to 300 kg (the weight of the wounded is one hundred kilograms plus two paramedics - conditionally two hundred kilograms). Based on the rules of freight transportation, the terms "cargo 200" and "cargo 300" are used to indicate the numbers of transport bills. It is possible to transport these goods with and without escort. Different types of transport are used for delivery: plane, train or car.
One of the interpretations is the symbol of the weight of 300 kg during railway transportation of the body of the deceased in a coffin with a zinc insert, hermetically sealed in a special way and delivered to the place of burial.
What other cargo numbers are there
The standard form adopted for transportation No. 200 means the transportation of a corpse, and the form number 300 is provided for the transportation of a wounded person. Oddly enough, but military jargon introduces a variety of terms into our vocabulary.
"Zelenka" means a forest belt, any green space that can become a shelter for the enemy. It becomes known the coding of goods in addition to the "two hundredth" and "three hundredth":
- 100 - defined as the transportation of ammunition;
- 700 is a transportation of money and material values;
- 800 is a special secret cargo that contains radiochemical ammunition and substances.
“Duplex” means broken (in relation to the subject) or died, died (meaning a person).
What is behind the use of this term today
Cargo 300 - what is in the modern sense? The modern interpretation and use of the term no longer plunges anyone into shock. The world is grosser, behind the numbers denoting a load of 300, someone's pain, a crippled body and a wounded soul are hiding. When listening to the news, a news bulletin about the “three hundredths” and “two hundredths” does not hurt anymore. And when the figures indicate losses in the combat zone, anonymization of a person, a citizen occurs, after which no one practically takes into account the personality and fate of the wounded. Society begins to get used to cruelty, war, losses.
Thinking about what, and cargo 300 - what is it, you can simply say that it is trouble, pain, tragedy, tears of the mother and relatives of the wounded soldier, but it is also a hope for recovery and further life, which can not be said about cargo 200.
