Domestic and foreign comedies about a desert island

On the ocean islands you can find many picturesque corners that have preserved fabulous beauty: paradise beaches, sand dunes, formidable extinct volcanoes, impressive dense vegetation of the forest and amazing always cloudless blue sky. It seems that such a beauty of nature can only be seen in a dream. Therefore, it is not surprising that filmmakers choose islands as a source of inspiration, transfer the effect of their creations to them. Comedies about uninhabited islands are released regularly, most of them are worthy of spectator attention. The brightest genre samples are presented in this publication.

Bright print

Often comedies about an uninhabited island are shot in the form of a parody, for example, a hit of foreign distribution in the USSR, Signor Robinson. The tape left a bright imprint in the memory of domestic viewers and critics, you can laugh at it from the heart even now. The Italian comedy starring Sergio Corbucci with the inimitable Paolo Villaggio is a comedic interpretation of the legendary story of Robinson Crusoe.

The film in the USSR was watched by 52 million people. A frivolous parody appealed to the Soviet audience, where back then in 1979 one could admire so much light, sea, sand and charming women. The picture is still uplifting, it is really shot funny, the narrative is saturated with a lot of jokes, funny situations and awkward moments.

Comedies about uninhabited islands, adventures

Family movie

The film "Survival Lessons" is a fun family comedy about an uninhabited island, which hosts a forced robinsonade of boys and men who, by the will of fate, ended up on it.

The main character Kolya arrives at an exotic resort with his mother. But the woman is taken to the hospital, and to get to her, the child secretly sneaks into a small plane piloted by the Russian pilot Zhenya. The flight is accompanied by a severe thunderstorm, so the plane crashes on a tiny island. Zhenya and Kolya are waiting for help from the robinson.

The main charm of the work of director Andrei Tomashevsky is that it suits spectators of any age. In general, this is a worthy, charming and fascinating family sight, although you cannot name a homerically funny picture.

Sarcastic action

Russian film directed by Alexander Voitinsky “The Jungle” is difficult to classify as comedies about uninhabited islands. The adventures of the protagonists experiencing a crisis of family life, Sergei and Marina, are comparable to real fighting. Once outside the ship, the couple do not fight together for survival, they continue to quarrel. In the course of the plot, it turns out that the island is populated by a warlike tribe of natives.

From the majority of Russian comedies, the Jungle compares favorably with its exotic visualization and the presence of witty jokes.

Cinema about a desert island, comedy

Coconuts and Prejudices

Cinema (comedy) about a desert island is sometimes not very successful. At least, the Russian project “Island of luck” by Kirill Kozlov received not the most flattering reviews. However, you can watch it thanks to three leading actresses.

The main character - the unlucky showman Roma - after oblivion comes to his senses on a desert island in the company of three finalists of a beauty contest held on an ocean liner. To save his own skin from furious beauties, a man is lying that tests are ongoing, and the shooting is being done with hidden cameras. Among the advantages of the project, one can note the absence of vulgar jokes, the general good-natured atmosphere and the trinity of actresses. Add to that a nice soundtrack and you get a nice comedy about a desert island.

Teenage Romance

During his entire creative career, director Randall Kleizer ate a dog on the creation of youth comedies and melodramas with beach views. His “Blue Lagoon” and “Briolin” occupy not the last place in the gold fund of world cinema. Therefore, when listing comedy films about uninhabited islands, his project “Love on the Island” should be mentioned.

The main character Jenny as a result of an accident falls on a “desert” island with her idol rock star Jason Masters. In fact, it’s close to the mainland, but the girl keeps the truth a secret. The picture has an amazing atmosphere - the endless blue ocean, tall palm trees and the scorching sun. The jokes in the movies are light but witty, the characters are vivid and memorable.

Adventure Comedy

In the romantic comedy directed by Ivan Reitman, Six Days, Seven Nights, the main characters spend six days after the crash of a small plane on a desert island. Having begun adventures with mutual hostility, the heroes after a while already sympathize with each other and get closer.

In the comedy film Gaya Richie's "Gone" the situation is similar. After the collapse of the yacht, the bitchy rich lady Amber and the simple sailor Giuseppe also find themselves on a desert island. And again, hatred is replaced by love.
