Mormyshka - this element of equipment for ice fishing is considered one of the inventions of Russian fishers. The fishermen of the Moscow region were actively catching mormyshka in the thirties of the last century. But since then fishing technique with the help of mormyshka has spread throughout the entire planet where ice exists and fishermen live.
It is curious that this word got its name thanks to small freshwater crustaceans, which are called "Mormysh." A fishing hook that is soldered into a tin or lead pellet resembles this arthropod.
However, not all mormyshki are designed for winter fishing. There is a type of so-called summer mormyshek. They are larger than their winter counterparts and are used for fishing from boats, preferably in calm, calm weather.
Winter variants of mormyshka can be much smaller than their summer counterpart. They are divided into two large groups, with which you can catch with a nozzle and without it.
The first group, as its name implies, includes mormyshki, which are used for fishing using animal or plant heads. Within this group, they differ in shape, color and size.
The second group differs in that something obviously inedible is used on the hook as a nozzle. It can be a piece of cambric, a bead, a piece of foam or foam, etc. This type of mormyshek is also distinguished by color, shape and size.
The main characteristic of mormyshka is its weight. This applies to jigs for fishing with a nozzle, and to a group of jigs intended for fishing without a nozzle. They are superheavy, heavy, medium, light, ultralight.
Mormyshka is the most expensive and most valuable element of snap fishing rods for ice fishing. In some ways, its value for a particular angler resembles the value of a good, catchy spinner for a lover of spinning. Therefore, every loss of mormyshka is a tragedy. Itβs most offensive when a fisherman loses it through his own fault, if he simply does not know how to properly tie a mormyshka.
It would seem that here is complicated? I passed the fishing line through the hole, made a knot, and everything is ready, the answer to the question "How to tie a mormyshka?" In fact, such simplicity often costs the angler the loss of one or more mormysheks for fishing. Most often, the fishing line is rubbed banally.
This applies to the droplet type gear, which has a special hole for skipping fishing line. In order to bind mormyshka, in this case, anglers use several methods. The simplest of them is the use of braids.
How to attach a droplet mormyshka
First of all, the main fishing line is pushed into the hole for fixing the soldered hook, after which it is twisted into a loop and comes back. The resulting loop serves as a hole for attaching mormyshki. Then the fishing line is attached to the braid by one of the famous fishing units. The size of the braided loop in this case is adjustable, its ends are tied directly to the hook. Excess pieces of fishing line and braids are removed.
How to tie an uralka mormyshka
This type has a ring for tying fishing line. Therefore, in this case, it makes sense to use one of the nodes that are used when tying hooks. The size of the node increases. The end of the line is closer to the sting of the hook. Inevitably there will be problems with the removal of excess fishing line. But you need to tinker. Mormyshka - delicate tackle, does not like rushing. By the way, it is best to knit all of these nodes in a warm place.
This article describes only two ways to attach mormyshki. In reality, there are many more of these methods. There are a lot of them in the specialized literature, on the Internet ... And any experienced fisherman will always be happy to answer a beginner's question about how to tie a jug.
