Biography

Graham McTavish (photo below) was born in 1961 in Glasgow - the largest city in Scotland. His parents, Ellen and Alex McTavish, decided to move when he was ten years old. Thus, he managed to live in England, Canada and New Zealand, until he returned to his homeland, where he got a job at the Dundee Repertory Theater.

Since 1986, Graham became a member of a television show - starred in an episode of the adventure project "Return to Treasure Island." Two years later, he played the guardsman in Desmond Davis’s drama “Freedom Fighter” and the lieutenant in the thriller Martin Stellman “For the Queen and the Country” (1988). And only in 1997 he received one of the main roles in Jeremy Friston’s drama “Macbeth”, where he happened to play Lord Banco, the character of the famous Shakespeare tragedy.

In 1998, Graham McTavish appeared in David Winning's television movie Merlin: The First Magic, telling the story of a young wizard who was about to fight evil in the future. In 2002, he received a small role in the psychological thriller Matthew Parkhill's "Points over i". A year later, he played the captain of the submarine in the adventure thriller Jan de Bont “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 2”. And he played the role of a Roman officer in the historical drama Antoine Fouquois “King Arthur” with Keira Knightley and Clive Owen in the lead roles.

Tolkien's fantasy novel “The Hobbit” were released - films with Graham McTavish, where he played the dwarf Dwalin, one of the 12 satellites of Bilbo and Torin during the search for Erebor.
